I gave our nanny some time off, even though she offered to stay, and now I’m drowning! This Christmas with a toddler and an 8 month old was so exhausting. How did you fare this season? Did you do it solo or get any help from family, friends, or nannies?

We've come away, which is the first 'proper break' I've had at Christmas since DS was born 😂

Normally I plan in play dates, or at the very least soft play where I can sit with a drink and process my thoughts! In general though it's manic and full on. Try and take a bit of annual leave in Jan once everything is back to 'normal' so you have some time to decompress!

Thanks for the tip! I’d love to have a break this Jan but I have so many obligations… so that’ll have to wait until Feb at least. The good thing is we have our nanny back. Do you look after your children by yourself or do you get help?

Our nanny usually does most of the work but my DH got angry with her and banished her outside. It was frightfully hard work without her and she got really cold.

I should mention Nanny is a specially trained St Bernard dog. Hope this helps.
