Has anyone else been? Which travel company/airline did you go with? Would you recommend them or not? Was FC authentic?

It will be a ‘one off experience’ so I want to get it right?

I've just got back.
Booked it all myself independently. Very easy to do. Much much cheaper. By thousands

Booked easy jet flights to Rovaniemi.
We didn't stay in Santa claus village as there are loads of hotels in Rovaniemi that are much much cheaper. You can go to santa claus village for free. Here you can book reindeer rides, husky rides etc. you can do this yourself and it's cheaper.

A lot of people book hotels before flights as theres no deposit needed and you can cancel without charge if your flights are different to what you wanted. You pay for hotel in December. Flights are released in March. Easy Jet, Ryan Air and BA all fly there .
We hired a car but you don't need to

I've booked for next year with LJEscapes, which can be found on Facebook and is owned by a friend of a friend. It is expensive (almost £7k for 3 adults and 1 child, as SD will be 16 when we go) but it was stress free to organise.

Can I be cheeky and ask the cost please?

I am keen to go Dec 2026 when my children will be a little older - but of course need to make sure it is affordable, whilst ensuring they don't miss out!

Our flights were around £250 per person return from London. We booked in June but of we had waited until September/ October the prices came right down
Hotel was €1200 for 4 nights but we are a family of 5

Everything else was obviously a cost on top and is dependent on who you book it with/ how long you spend on a husky etc

I'm toying with this too. There is a FB group. Lapland on a budget

Is it expensive there?

Husky rides etc? Food?

I'm desperate that we go as there's such a small window whilst the believe, and will remember!

In Santa Claus Village you can book 'taster' husky rides/ reindeer rides etc. they are cheap but short i think.

Or you can book longer ones. We were staying outside of city centre and did a 1 hour husky so yes it was expensive.

Food is pretty expensive there- it's a tourist trap so similar prices to London i suppose. We dod self catered so shopped in Lidl.

I'd 100% go back in a heartbeat.
My kids are 5,8 and 10 and all absolutely loved it

There are a few Santas you can see. Some free (in Santa Clause village)
We saw a mid range one in Santa Park which was a whole morning indoor santa experience with Virtual sleigh ride, train ride, cookie decorating and elf shows- about £40 per person i think
Or you can get him to come to you house or go and fond him in the snowy forest for a more magical experience but it was out if my budget.
We also had a day of skiing/ snow boarding.
Which was a nice taster for my kids

As we booked it all ourselves, which meant we were not given the snow suits etc- but got most things on Vinted for very cheap

Oh wow thank you so much everyone. I would’ve read and replied sooner but we’ve all had the flu, it’s been horrendous.

Thank you all for your really helpful tips and insight. I SO want to take my children for Christmas 25. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for the last couple of years I think this needs to be the year we go ⛄️
