Would my 4 year old have noticed?

So basically I wrapped my daughters presents who are nearly 5 and nearly 3 from Santa, except one or two very large presents. Then Christmas morning my partner went upstairs to wrap my presents and asked our 2 girls to help him (after they had opened their presents). He used the SAME wrapping paper as Santa presents. My daughter was kind of grumpy later on in the day saying she didn't get as many presents and hers weren't as nice. She's not feeling the best anyway but I am so annoyed he did that but mostly anxious thinking she might have noticed! Can anyone please reassure me. And yes i know I sound crazy to be honest but it's the first christmas where she really understood and was soooo excited

I think that would be young to notice but when I have made continuity errors in the Santa lies I just laugh and say ‘what a coincidence we got the same one as Santa’ and leave it at that. They want to believe at that age, so they do.

I feel like if a three or five year old
noticed, she would’ve said! They’re not well known for their subtlety.

Yeah my 5yo just told me she thought it was all bollocks a few weeks ago (not quite like that but equally bluntly!) so I think you would know quite quickly at that age!

If they did notice Father Christmas borrowed some of your paper when he came to your house as he had run out. Rudolph ate the sellotape. That sort of story. The Lille ones always love the stories.

More likely grumpy because too much chocolate and excitement

If she’s a noticing sort of child she might have clocked it, but would have said something if so

If you are telling them pretty much all their presents (and not just stockings) are from Fr Christmas that might get a bit tricky later when auntie jo expects to be thanked for the lego, is the only thing

Santa is a sort of "willing suspension of disbelief" deal anyway isn't it?
Even if they notice and ask they'll be easily convinced by a daft story because they want to believe.

We were always told that Father Christmas DELIVERED the presents for everyone not supplied them, which was why we had to write a 'thank you letter' to each relatives/ 'fake relative' that gave us something. (A process that took much of the fun out of Christmas!)

I’d be a little less concerned about the wrapping paper and a little more concerned about a 4 yo that told you she didn’t get as many presents and they weren’t as nice .

I think if she had noticed she would have said so right away.

My mum used the same wrapping paper for Santa and family and even wrote in her regular handwriting and I was about 8 before I twigged. So no I don't think this will even have crossed their minds!
