Just One Thing by Dr Michael Moseley. I've got prediabetes and on a ten month course (provided free by NHS). It isn't just about cutting carbs/sugars, losing weight - it's about healthier eating, mental and physical health, better sleep, reducing stress. I saw the book and thought it might be interesting.

I did ask for a couple of fiction books, which I didn't get, although DH normally gives me a small Boxing Day gift, so who knows.

QwestSprout · 25/12/2024 17:56

The Narrow Road between Desires by Patrick Rothfuss
Outgunned, a 40k novel
and a vegan Korean cookbook

Boffle · 25/12/2024 18:00

I got Nancy Birtwhistle's Sizzle and Drizzle, a Debbie Shore sewing book and The Alice Network by Kate Quinn kindle book.
I only found out last week that you can send someone a kindle book.

SaborDeSoledad · 25/12/2024 18:01

Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. I knew I was getting it for Christmas so held off reading it.

Becsim · 25/12/2024 18:15

student26 · 25/12/2024 19:52

The Adrian Mole series, and five books in the Why Mummy Swears series. A set of Red Dwarf books. Say you Swear, Faebound and The sun and the moon. Oh, and the entire Louise Rennison set of ‘Angus, things and full frontal snogging.’

StrawberryPavlova · 25/12/2024 21:04

Oh I also bought my almost-13 year old daughter some Point Horror books so I can read them and relive my early teen years.

Hedjwitch · 25/12/2024 21:06

" Just Good Manners" by William Hanson. His waspish asides are very amusing.
