So far I have lost:

Two packs of boxers
One battery pack
4 personalised stockings (the type for putting presents in, not the type for wearing)
2 huge dairy milk bars
the Christmas bedding

I thought I was so organised, with everything stored by recipient in bags in the big cupboard 😂

First thing I bought was some nice shower gel for DH, been in my clothes drawer about three months. Found it on wardrobe shelf at the back of everything.

mamaduckbone · 24/12/2024 23:22

Last year I completely forgot that I'd bought two of those really long packs of party rings for the dc, until I found them in around February. To my knowledge I haven't lost anything this year, but who knows? We're at SIL's, 3 hrs drive away, so if anything's been forgotten it's staying put now.

I’ve just been reading this thread half asleep and remembered that I bought my DS some fluffy crocs that I’ve forgotten about - had to quickly jump out of bed, wrap then and take them downstairs to his sack! Thanks for the reminder!

A book for my husband - I swear I put it in my pyjama drawer but it isn’t there. I’ve taken all the clothes out of my wardrobe and no joy. I’m giving up looking for it, on the hope this means it will turn up.

Thank you! Found the battery pack in my pyjama drawer thanks to you saying this.

I ordered an engraved wooden tree decoration for my granddaughter. It was in a small padded envelope and I'm worried when I got all the stuff I'd bought out of the bags they were on I didn't notice it and threw it away.
Or, the fact we moved house 3 weeks ago could be the reason ......

A pack of brushes for my teen that she asked for. So annoying, I’ve looked everywhere.

FestiveFruitloop · 24/12/2024 23:59

I have been looking EVERYWHERE today for a brooch I ordered for my mum, it definitely arrived, but my brain is tumbleweed as to where I put the damn thing! I've bought her other things, but I was really looking forward to seeing her face when she opened the brooch. I think it'll have to be a post-Xmas present as I can't think of anywhere else to look atm! Grr.

Glad it's not just me who does this!

Trumpton · 25/12/2024 00:02

Not a present but where is the make ahead veggie gravy I made and froze? I found the meat version and in theory the veggie one should have been clearly labelled next to it!
Ah well… now made and as a bonus an extremely tidy and organised freezer!
Happy Christmas and to all a good night!

Rtmhwales · 25/12/2024 00:08

This was me last year. This year I’ve made a note in my phone of where every single present is located even if I consider it obvious. It’s helped massively. Last year was spent in a panic and I found a bunch of random forgotten gifts in February.

The chestnuts for the sprouts. Turned kitchen and hall cupboard upside down. (And this didn't result in organisation like some PPs but absolute chaos). We eventually gave up deciding to do the sprouts with just bacon instead. Walked into the sitting room and they were under the desk???

After eights for teen's stocking. Bought more today. But annoyed as to where I put them. Grrr.

Maybe they got eaten

I only came here to say you win the prize for cutest MN username

Thank you @twohotwaterbottles that's such a lovely thing to say and means a lot after some of the comments on MN today.

Hope you all have a lovely day to tomorrow, with or without the missing presents Xmas Wink

I hope you have a lovely day too ☺️🎅🏻🌲🐭

Play doh ice cream thingy. I’ve checked Amazon twice and I definitely ordered it (ands I remember seeing it here) but it’s disappeared down a black hole somewhere.

Thaiyogamassage · 25/12/2024 09:55

Those magnetic building shapes for ds. The coloured ones that come in squares and triangles. I suspect they are outside in the cardboard box pile so I'll go investigate later.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 25/12/2024 17:28

I found it, it was under the bed - not hidden among the clothes at all.

2025willbemytime · 25/12/2024 19:14

A nebulous link but I've come home and the last remaining mini croissant is missing. I think the cat picked it up, dropped it on the floor and the dog ate the evidence. This happened once before with a plastic box of baked goods from Asda. The call to their bakery department to see if any had raisins in was hard work.

On Christmas Day afternoon, I found 2 x number one chocolate medals (intended for stockings) and 3 x flavoured tic tacs (also intended for stockings).

What have other people found, so far?

Found one of DSis' birthday presents. Luckily we didn't swap presents until last night as she's a shift worker so just added it to her pile of gifts Wink

Stockings and Christmas bedding are still missing 😅

No way? You did definitely buy it didn't you OP? Sometimes I can look at things in shops and think I've bought them and didn't actually.

That might just me me though...Grin

I've lost The Land of Roar book 3 for my daughter and to make matters worse both Grandma and us bought her book 2. I even sent Grandma the link!

I lost a £60 yoto parcel, I had to re order or the main yoto gift was pointless 😢
