Ready made vegan dessert?

I unexpectedly need to provide a vegan dessert for boxing day. Don't have time (or inclination to be honest) to make something. Can anyone recommend a decent ready made vegan dessert? Have access to major supermarkets - apart from waitrose! Thanks

Coeliac here - the free from Christmas puddings at M and S and Sainsbury's are vegan as well as gluten free

A fruit salad or some fresh raspberries or strawberries with some vegan ice cream and crushed nuts is simple and lovely. I’m not vegan, but that would be better than almost every other pudding (only with real ice cream).

Sains have this + Jude’s vegan vanilla ice cream 😋

Most supermarkets have the Gu plant based desserts.

A nice apple? Maybe a pear?

Coeliac and allergic to milk here. A selection depending on your nearby supermarkets and the tastes of your vegan guest:

  • The GU plant based cheesecakes (lemon, zillionaire or chocolate)
  • Tesco does chilled tubs of mousse called Oddly Good - berry or lemon, and there is a caramel one too although I haven't seen that for a while
  • Asda does a two pack of chocolate mousse

Most chilled sections have vegan cream (squirty or in a tub). The free from ambient sections will probably have a syrup pud or Christmas pud.

If you gave me a lemon mousse in a glass with some berries, I'd be very happy.

Search for strudel in the frozen section - it’s almost always vegan (but do check) and it’s super easy as you just put it straight from the freezer into the oven. Serve with soya cream or non dairy ice cream.

Speaking as a vegan, most vegan puddings from supermarkets are the same bland texture and highly processed taste. I'd go for ice cream. There's a wide variety of vegan ice creams, or vegan mochi. You could serve it with that cherry compote you get in a jar, or crushed Biscoff biscuits or something.

A nice apple? Maybe a pear?

There’s a huge selection of vegan desserts in supermarkets so why go for something so boring?

I know the OP said Boxing Day, but if anyone is reading this thread looking for Christmas generally, lots of Christmas puddings are ‘accidentally ‘ vegan. We’ve got Tesco 12 month matured this year.
Also mince pies - look at the’basic’ or economy version because they are often made with margarine instead of butter.
I really like the Oatly vanilla custard which comes in little packs in the chiller section.

Along with the pudding we’re having cherries in kirsch with plant based ice cream and grated dark chocolate. Most dark chocolate is vegan.

To the person who suggested an apple, I hope you enjoy munching your solitary apple at Christmas 😏

Go to a caffe nero or similar, buy a few slices of cheesecake or something. They look great and are nice (as a non vegan.)

Thanks all - picked up a chocolate torte from Markies, will bring an apple too so there's a choice...
