Nephew 28- teacher, owns own home, gym obsessed, has a lot of disposable income so basically buys whatever he wants, has a new partner so don’t see a huge amount of him at the moment. I have no clue what to get him!

Godmother- 45, single, recently lost a lot of weight and has a new wardrobe of lovely branded clothes, only likes ‘lush’ toiletries and I’ve left delivery too late. Workaholic and great income so she buys whatever she wants. Previous years I’ve got theatre tickets but she’s booked all she wants to see for the yeah ahead!

these are the last two, and due to living rurally and a poorly baby I am probably reliant on delivery now. Any suggestions pleease??

Nephew - skipping rope? I bought my gym obsessed sons one each, they are actually rope free ones that count your jumps, great for fitness, I'll find a link

It's boring but can be easily sourced: a bottle of champagne.
It never goes off.
It can be regifted which singletons value.
It has value and status in itself.
It can be deployed when conveniently chilled for a date or special occasion.
Sometimes, it's better not to be creative. :) 'The old ones are the best'

Silk pillowcase for you godmother? John Lewis or Amazon. Great for your hair and skin (I’m 44 and have asked for one!)

Iamblossom · 21/12/2024 20:17

Godmother - I bought myself this scarf this year, it's got lots of cashmere in it and is gorgeous and soft I get lots of compliments when I wear it.

Unfortunately I can confirm champagne very much definitely does go off....Confused

Still a great present idea though.

@Iamblossom , thanks for the warning. I've never heard of such a thing though. Just for info, how old was the duff one?

Well....DH doesn't like it and we have been given a few bottles over the years, so recently I decided to work my own way through them.....so far they have all been off, but tbf all are 5 years plus old. I've not even bothering to open the bottle of Harrods champagne from our wedding 24 years ago as that will obviously be gross, I'll just look at it fondly from time to time. I think I drank enough of it on the day not to be too upset about that 🤣

What is your budget? Although I do like the silk pillowcase and skipping rope suggestions above!

JC03745 · 21/12/2024 20:51

Budget?
Nephew- Little hamper with jerky/biltong, pork scratchings, flavoured peanuts, bacon jam, bottle of champagne/wine/whiskey/gin. Some gym goers eat high protein snacks.

Godmother-House plant, scarf, bottle of something.

For either- voucher to a restaurant, ticket to a local event such as a murder mystery night, national trust membership.

BangingOn · 21/12/2024 21:07

Budget is key here. Your description of your godmother is very similar to me (aside from a love of Lush) and I have lots of suggestions if you can confirm how much you’d like to spend.

ASOS do lush and just checked you can get next day delivery for Monday 23rd.

Phase2 · 21/12/2024 21:14

Theatre tokens or ATG membership for the godmother? If she's London or near a decent theatre

Twinklelittlefart · 21/12/2024 23:05

@BangingOn budget about £20 and £10/15 for nephew.

@JC03745 he does eat a lot of protein! Infact that’s one of his favourite topics!! I’ve zero clue on this however.

Would your godmother appreciate a national theatre at home subscription? It's £10 a month and you can choose the number of months.

Peony15 · 22/12/2024 00:01

I'd get something from Kiehl's /Aesop have 3 men at home, all love it as do I.
https://www.johnlewis.com/kiehls-facial-fuel-energizing-face-wash-for-men/p2427228?size=250ml , tiny bit more than you want to
spend. Perfect for home or gym.
Godmother: silk
pillowcase is my go to present, dreamy for skin and hair, but sadly double your budget.

Pillowspray is also nice

RogueFemale · 22/12/2024 00:25

For nephew, Gordon Ramsey cookbook, 'Ultimate Fit Food'

Fantina · 22/12/2024 00:32

I came on to say a National Theatre subscription for a month or two, I’m going to gift it to myself this Christmas as it looks brilliant.

BangingOn · 22/12/2024 08:56

For £20 for your godmother I’d look for a lovely candle, especially if you have someone local that makes really good quality candles. Alternative, a pair of silk and bamboo bed/lounge socks, Aesop hand cream, a velvet pouch or shopper bag from Elizabeth Scarlett, a cool mug and some good coffee (I like Black and Beech for feminist slogans, or Nkuku for something pretty).

Twinklelittlefart · 22/12/2024 13:48

Brilliant ideas, have gone for the theatre sub and the skipping rope. Knew I could rely on you!! Thanks and merry Christmas!
