My mum asked me if I wanted to join her for Christmas as she’s spending it alone. I said yes, would be myself (single parent) and my young child who is disabled. I went on a trip for 4 weeks, I return and saw my mum 5 days before Christmas and she said she’s doing something else now (as we didn’t speak about it again?) and she will see us on 28th. I think the other offer was more fun, alcohol etc. I’m used to this treatment to be honest. But I’m really pissed off. We don’t have any other arrangements/ short notice. wtf 😬 not sure what the purpose of this post is, to rant I guess and hear what others think 😅

That's really horrible of her.

All you can do is make the most of it. You don't have to eat a traditional Christmas dinner. You can have anything you want.!

What would your child's favourite dinner be? I mean, if you want to have pizza have pizza. A sofa party, snuggled up watching Christmas tele. Just do what you can to enjoy your very own specialised Christmas 🎅🎄❤️☺️

Not great but You still have time to buy the makings of a great Christmas lunch, put up a tree and have a lovely few days with your dc, sharing some no-rush, family time.

Check the tv listings for the best entertainment. Plan some gentle activities at home- baking/icing gingerbread snowmen or playing with new Christmas toys. Treat yourself to a good book, some lovely bath bubbles and a bottle of fizz for some me-time after dc is in bed.
