Christmas dinner - no oven

We have been getting our house done and kitchen remodelled. It should have taken 12 weeks, we are now in week 15 and we no longer have a kitchen. I have a small air fryer and a microwave and a double plug in hob somewhere in the shed.

Can anyone recommend a Christmas dinner option with the above. It’s just me DH and DC5 and 2. We can’t afford lunch out and don’t really want to with small kids.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Meat in the air fryer (chicken? Turkey legs? Beef joint? Depends what you like!) Steamed veg on the hobs. Meat out then roast veg in the air fryer.
You could pre make mash and gravy on the hobs the day before and just heat in in the microwave.

Turkey crown in the air fryer
Roast potatoes in air fryer (make first then reheat)
Veg as you like it but would roast Brussels personally (again do earlier in air fryer!) and boil carrots and other green veg on hob 1.
Use other hob to fry off red cabbage then make base for gravy using meat juices.

Christmas pudding and custard can be microwaved

Small turkey or chicken in microwave instruction here

Roast potatoes in the air fryer, we do this if we're not doing a roast
Then you can do 2 or 3 veg in the hob. If you don't mind cold pigs in blankets you could do them in air fryer before the spuds

We microwaved a Thanksgiving turkey and it was actually pretty good

Seriously, it was pretty good.

Could you get a pre-cooked chicken? If you didn’t want to eat it cold, I might have been known to warm slices up on the hob with gravy. Air fryer could do some roasties and the hob and microwave could cook some veg.

You might prefer just doing something totally different - a cold buffet (cheeses, cold meats, sausage rolls, nibbles etc) or maybe your favourite meals (carbonara, curry). And a delicious pudding. Of course.

Good luck!

Dp will do turkey crown in slow cooker and roast potatoes in air fryer. Is there a possibility you could borrow a slow cooker from a friend or relative?

Thanks all, I have today had a gas fitter come and sorted out an oven for me. Granted we still don’t have a floor or a dishwasher in the ‘kitchen’ but it does feel like a bit of a miracle!

Merry Christmas.
