Inspired by the 14 year olds girl thread which reflected exactly what my daughter would like.

My sensitive but sporty son is reluctant to give me ideas other than head phones.

Tell me what your sons have asked for?

Thanks

Can you share the maths books if not a pain please ?

Funny how the teenage girl gifts are knickers, bras and expensive make up and the boys are getting clothes sports and entertainment stuff.
Terrifying. Think I had just stopped playing with barbies at 14. Glad I've got two boys! 😂

DS insisted on some expensive perfume - Valentino Born in Roma, I think?

Clothes from some shoddy site which haven't turned up Hmm

Desk chair, streaming mic.

I was going to get him a basketball hoop for the garden but couldn't find one I liked in time.

One present mine loved at that age and still use all the time is one you'd associate probably more with elderly relatives.
A big heated electric fluffy blanket.
For vegging cosily on sofa/bed on cold days gaming/scrolling through your phone.
Another popular hit was a small drinks fridge for the ( gaming ) den in the attic, filled with random miniature drinks/juice cartons, guess like a teen lunchbox.
One still has it in his flatshare's kitchen as their now " wine fridge ".

MissyB1 · 22/12/2024 09:12

Ds is getting

PlayStation 5
Extra controller for PS
Gaming headphones
Oodie (M&S version)
football
Shin pads
Electric football pump

My maths loving teenager liked Matt Parker's Humble Pi, so I bought him Love Triangle (about trigonometry) by the same author this year. He also likes the What if books by Randall Munroe which aren't strictly maths but include some maths.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 22/12/2024 09:59

DS is 15 but nearly 16. He’s really hard to buy for this year as he’s got all the big ticket things he could ever want and they’re still going strong and he hasn’t asked for much. He’s got:

A young driver lesson
A wood burning pen
A thermanote printer
A golf brand bobble hat
A Nike golf jacket
Rechargeable hand warmers
A Teddy material cushion
A Marc Marquez cap (asked for)
3 novels about fighter pilots (asked for)
Ferrero Roche (asked for)
A shirt
Baggy skater jeans

His stocking is pretty boring:

socks that’s say I’d rather be golfing
Malteasers
a Kracken glass with mini bottle (we don’t mind him having a drink with his Xmas dinner)
a fidget toy
Fruit pastilles
white chocolate coins

BearSoFair · 22/12/2024 17:46

15 but DS2 has:
GoCube Edge
Tickets to see Chris Hadfield next summer - mock ticket wrapped up with some planet socks so he has something to open!
Book about the history of handheld consoles
Headphone/controller/phone stand for his desk

and his stocking

EnolaAlone · 20/12/2024 22:13

DS is 17, but asked for air pods, Xbox controller, Steve Rhodes T-shirt, sheet music, graphic novel, chocolate.

@EnolaAlone where do you buy Stere Rhodes t-shirts from please? do they wash well?

EnolaAlone · 22/12/2024 21:14

@nearlylovemyusername I've got them from HMV and the ones he already has have lasted ages, seem to wash well and be decent quality.

nearlylovemyusername · 22/12/2024 21:29

@EnolaAlone thank you
