What do you watch on TV over Christmas with your young children?

My DD is 6, but she seems to find most films too scary. She quite liked the grinch and elf last year though.

Just wondering what others would recommend, either TV programmes or films, over the Christmas period? We have BBC iplayer, or apple tv.

Thanks!

Arthur Christmas is a good one. I like Klaus too but not sure if she’s a bit young. The Nativity, Stickman, CBeebies pantos on iPlayer.

DS is 5. We tend to watch the snowman and the one with the dog. We'll be watching the new Wallace and Gromit too. We might try him on Home Alone but he wasn't interested last year.

I might see if we can get Arthur claus. She watched home alone at a friend's and thought it was too scary! She even found some Shaun the sheep scary... it's tricky trying to find something that we can all watch together. I thought i might try the primrose railway children on iplayer as well.

I'm sure when i was younger there was more family dramas available on BBC... not sure if they still do that type of thing.

Watching with interest as DD is also easily scared. The Polar Express went down well and This Christmas

Second Arthur Christmas, great film. I also have an easily scared little one. There’s loads on bbc, all the Julia Donaldson stories, gruffalo, gruffalos child, highway rat, room in the broom, stickman, snail and the whale, tabby McTat. And they’re doing Tiddler on Christmas Day.
Not sure if these two are on channel 4 right now, but they did Mog and also the Tiger Who Came To Tea. Might find them on Prime if not.
Also on bbc, there’s loads of Christmas pantos, the nutcracker, beauty and the beast, dick Whittington, plus loads of ballets. My DD has been off sick from school this week and I’m now sick of watching all of them on repeat 😂

DD is 6 and her favourite is also Arthur Christmas as well as all of the Nativity films.

We also love:
The Polar Express
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Muppet Christmas Carol

The most recent rendition of Wurzel Gummidge is lovely!

Prep and Landing, we've been watching it every year since my son was born, he's a teen now and still loves it.

Another vote for Arthur Christmas, it’s fab.

Gruffalo
Gruffalo 's child
Stickman
Highway rat

Am big fan of Julia Donaldson adaptations and I'll watch them myself when the kids have grown and lost interest!
