DH has been asking me this for weeks and I keep saying nothing but now I have bought him a few things and I know if he gets me nothing he'll feel bad. I just don't know what I want, I tend to buy stuff for myself as and when I see it. So can you please help? Links to lovely stuff I might like would be appreciated Smile budget flexible but around £100.

To give as much detail as I can which may help

I'm mid 40s
Like makeup and skincare
I like clothes, have recently lost a lot of weight so rebuilding my wardrobe
I like tech but have most of the usual things
Love 80s films
Love 90s music
Work in an office
Like wine
Usually a foodie but trying to eat healthily
Quite like a bit of bling
Jewellery tends to be silver coloured.
2 small children who often drive me insane. Always tired!
I like shows, musicals, comedy.

Thank you. Hopefully someone will come along who knows what I like better than I do 🙏

A night away without the kids?

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 17/12/2024 21:14

I’ve asked for a nice bullet journal and travel mug. Nice soft pjs and fluffy socks.

A spa day
Massage/treatment
Nee clothes
Make up/skin care
Some really good wines with cheese/smoked salmon/whatever other luxury treats you like
New suitcase for trips away
Coat or jacket
Perfume
Trip away for the 2 of you for a couple of nights - if you have babysitters!
Books

A weekend away with tickets to something you would like to see at the theatre.
Afternoon tea.
Tickets to a wine tasting.
Perfume.
New designer handbag.
New boots.
Tickets to something you wouldn't typically do. I have recently been to ice hockey for the first time, which was fun.
Some sort of animal experience at the local zoo.
New coat.

If you are at a weight you are happy with I would ask for money to treat myself to a nice coat in the sales.

longtompot · 17/12/2024 21:59

For around £100 I'd probably ask for
a really nice bottle of wine, maybe something I've seen recommended but not something I'd buy
A pair of earrings
Maybe tickets to a local theatre for a show in the new year
A sparkly tennis bracelet
A voucher for a pamper session like a facial or full massage

Thanks so much for the suggestions. All lovely ideas and I share a few of them with DH.
In an ideal world I'd like him to surprise me, he's known me 20 years so you'd think he knows what I like by now, but well, you know.

Some great ideas here. I'm getting a new heated blanket and some smart scales.

NearlyNewHip · 18/12/2024 05:38

My Nan asked me what I wanted (like you just buy myself what I want as and when budget allows) and I've asked for a sonic toothbrush. I've never tried one before and it's not something I'd 'treat' myself to because it's a 'toothbrush' x

A day/evening out or weekend away where he does all the booking and organising including a baby sitter and all you need to do is enjoy it.

Plus if you want a 'thing' maybe something like a bottle of wine and a DVD.

Give him broad categories of the types of wine and films you like then he can choose something himself.

Anything you are going to wear or use, you probably want to choose yourself and once you've done that, it's not a present from him, it's just making your life unnecessarily complicated so he can pat himself on the back that he's got you a nice gift.
