I love looking at similar threads (I really enjoy seeing what other people do for their Christmas meals).
We’re doing quite a lot of hosting so I’d appreciate any feedback before I go food shopping, there’s still time to make some changes!

Christmas Eve (6 adults, 1 toddler)

  • Fish pie with buttered/herby peas and grilled asparagus.
  • Tarte au citron, vanilla ice cream.

Christmas Day
Breakfast (2 adults, 1 toddler)

  • Boiled eggs with smoked salmon soldiers
  • Double chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and berries

Lunch (8 adults, 2 kids, 2 toddlers)

  • Turkey
  • Stuffing (sage, onion, sausage meat and roasted chestnut)
  • Roast potatoes
  • Honey and thyme roasted parsnips, beetroot, carrot and sweet potatoes
  • Mashed swede and carrots
  • Sprouts with pancetta (or peas with pancetta for those that don’t like them).
  • Cauliflower cheese
  • Yorkshire puddings
  • Gravy
  • (Possibly braised red cabbage and bread sauce if my husband’s friend brings them- no-one else is bothered).
  • Christmas pudding
  • Sticky toffee pudding
  • Fruit salad
  • Ice-cream, cream, custard

Evening (10-15 people):

  • Cheeseboard
  • Charcuterie board
  • Crackers and bread
  • Olives, nuts, chutneys
  • Mince pies
  • Christmas cake
  • Yule log

Boxing Day Lunch

  • Roasted ham
  • Mustard Dauphinois potatoes
  • Any suggestions for which veg to serve with it?
  • Leftover fruit salad pavlova

Leftovers (we have people staying for a few days and other people visiting)

  • Roasted root veg and cheese pie
  • Turkey, mushroom and pea curry
  • Turkey noodle soup
  • Bubble and squeak with fried egg
  • Cauliflower cheese and leek soup (for the freezer)
  • The ham will go home with the friends who are having lunch with us on Boxing Day
  • Cheese and charcuterie will get eaten over the course of the week with jacket potatoes or salad

Cheesy leeks with the Boxing Day ham work a treat.

@SiobhanSharpe buttered cabbage with caraway seeds sounds delicious.

Doesn't it!

Any leftover raw white cabbage juienned makea a refreshing vegan slaw with carraway seed viaigrette too.

@Crumpetandcake aww your lovely gran. It was also my nan that made it and I do her recipe. It's a shame you're the only one that likes it. Your menu sounds absolutely delicious. Good luck with it all! Sounds like it will be so much fun!

It isn't asparagus season- it will be imported and not great
