Noma incandescent tree lights-are they safe?

I need more lights for my tree. I currently have two sets of Noma Victorian lanterns that I love. I was going to add some plain traditional lights but then saw that they can get hot and cause fires and I've got that late night paranoia thing going on.
Has anybody had any issues with traditional bulbs tree lights? I don't like the harshness of LEDS and the Victorian lanterns are lost against their brightness.

Good question, which I'll be following! I do find the bulbs get quite warm. Don't leave them on overnight or while you're out a long time, and keep your tree well watered and don't let it dry out.

I've bought various sets of Noma lights over the years but find they break really easily, so good luck! I do love them though (they have PINK bulbs!) especially the little flower shaped ones. I agree that modern LEDs are miserable compared with the soft light and shades of the incandescent bulbs of our childhoods. This year we have naughty cats who will definitely try to climb the tree and I'm concerned they'll try and chomp our current incandescent light flexes, so - much to my son's disgust - I've bought a set of 'warm white' LEDs which have much lower voltage. They are not as 'mellow' as the display ones in the shop. Sad

If in doubt ... why would you

Lights are never left on if we aren't in the house and aren't on for hours on end except on Christmas Day. It's a real Christmas tree, in water, not artificial.
