Hello
This year I'm doing very posh personalised crackers as gifts. The gifts inside need to be enough to be a main present - budget for each is £20

What are small but nice things to go in? Crackers are quite chunky
Am a bit stuck for ideas!

Ages and interests of those receiving the crackers?

Soniastrumpet1984 · 13/12/2024 15:17

oops sorry

women ranging from 40-60

men aged 42-48

mixed interests - but all are grateful/ not tricky to buy for

I’m just filling my home made crackers.
I have miniature bottles of Tom Ford fragrance, some Lindor chocolates, nail polish, lottery tickets for Christmas draw and scratch cards.
Also hand written jokes and paper hats.

PastaAndProse · 13/12/2024 15:18

Penhaligons do nice miniature fragrance sets that you could break up.

Soniastrumpet1984 · 13/12/2024 15:18

where did you get the perfrume miniatures from? they sound great!

DH made some of these last year. I remember he added a Cath Kidston hand cream and nice lipstick to mine.
A wooden fountain pen?
Powerful mini torch?
LED clip on reading light?
Merino/cashmere blend wrist warmers
Leather gloves

MadameBethune · 13/12/2024 15:20

I think that’s quite tricky actually.
I do personalised crackers with things that are very small but worthwhile, they are still quite ‘token’ gifts. I would struggle to make them ‘main gift’ worthy as well.

Some ideas;
Jewellery
cosmetics
key fob
perfume
a pen that folds down small
Something truffle related for a foodie?
Garden snips
Soft gloves
A very fine scarf

pestofaster · 13/12/2024 15:25

Why a lovely idea !

a decent pen
travel card holder
mini whiskey or baileys
coffee voucher

https://www.masterofmalt.com/samples-and-miniatures/ These mini bottles would be good for any whisky fans (or rum, gin etc). They do top notch drinks in a double shot- the sort of thing that would cost hungers of pounds or more for a full size bottle.

Like the keyring idea too and the pen - I like all the ideas- please keep them coming !
I am so enjoying making them too

I gave up trying to find small pressies to fit inside crackers. I now put a couple of sweets in so that they rattle and then from their place setting a bit of string (posh string obviously !) to their wrapped gift hidden in tinsel in the middle of the table. Everyone loves it - you just have to be careful of the drinks as people follow their string. Makes it so much easier for small value gifts that are large such as gardening gloves or spring bulbs.

such a nice idea!

My crackers are not for the table- they are being delivered as presents but I may use this another time

Aren't you worried the bottles are going to fall and break when they pull them?

TartanMammy · 13/12/2024 17:44

Mini molton brown or alcohol miniature.

Posh chocolate.

I always love getting a lottery ticket in a cracker too.

From an outlet nearby. North East.
Guess you could do an online search and hopefully find something.

Hahahaha… I’m ahead of you on that.
They’re wrapped in tissue paper and in little boxes.

I love Delfonics mechanical pencils - feel much posher than they cost - but really anything from Present & Correct would appeal to me...

Delfonics Pencil (0.5mm)

This is a 0.5mm propelling pencil in three colours, a Pentel classic with a Delfonics imprint.

Mini Molton Brown shower gels.
Alcohol miniatures. I couldn’t find any in the supermarkets this year so had to buy on Amazon.
Chocolate covered coffee beans.
A mini Lindt Santa/bunny.

Nail varnish.
Posh bar soap.
My mum once got a book of stamps in her cracker, which she loved. But I’m not sure it would have the same impact these days!
Lip balm.
Packet of those eco seeds that you just throw into the air and scatter, wherever you are. Or ordinary fruit/veg/flower seeds for gardeners.

I bought my daughter a pencil (in a pack of ten, from Amazon) which, when it is used, you turn upside down and plant and it grows into a proper flower.
Air freshener for the car.
Coffee bags.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2024 08:51

I got alcohol miniatures from our local Spar.
