I googled this and was surprised that I couldn’t find anything! I’m trying to find a lovely Scandi homeware place where I could buy a candlestick holder or an art print or something as a Christmas gift for a friend.

Any suggestions?

(Not Ikea obvs 😂)

I passed one in Kings Cross last week, by Coal Drops Yard, but didn’t catch the name of it..

H&M Home has nice things and is technically scandi.

Ooh thank you! I’d love an excuse to pop back up there.

The Scandinavian Shop (in Scotland, but I order online) has lots of nice stuff.

Ferm Living, too.

Sostrene Grene is in coal drops yard @TheFlis

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 10/12/2024 11:09

There's also Skandium.

Mipil · 10/12/2024 12:04

Is there still a Skandium store, @AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras? I thought they closed and are online only now. The Marylebone High Street one has definitely gone. I think they had a concession at Selfridges. I’m fairly sure there is still some kind of Scandi concession there and possibly Liberty too.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 10/12/2024 12:44

Oh yes I'm talking online. Should've said! I'm nowhere near London (or anywhere, really) so I do everything online these days.

Flubadubba · 10/12/2024 16:57

Definitely Søstrene Grene. They carry the same stock as in Denmark.

TotallyTwisted · 10/12/2024 17:03

Much as I love Sostrene Grene it's still cheap and cheerful rather than designer. It's basically one step up from Flying Tiger. So if the OP is ruling out IKEA I doubt she's going to find what she's looking for in Sostrene Grene!

Ragruggers · 10/12/2024 17:06

You would have to come to Cornwall to Alice in Scandiland in Lostwithiel !!!

Funny, I went to a newly opened branch in my town with my SIL; and she said it reminded her of Flying Tiger. It reminded me of how Habitat used to be in the 70's.

There's Totally Swedish in Barnes and Marylebone too. Mostly a food shop but some homewares, I think. Googling brought up a place called Chase and Sorensen as well in Hackney.

Mcgooch23 · 10/12/2024 19:24

I haven't been here for years, and I think they are mostly for imported foodstuffs, but it's a lovely shop:

Should have said, I think they have two stores: Crawford st in Marylebone and one in Barnes

SaltaKatten · 10/12/2024 19:45

I went to the totally Swedish shop the other week as I had to sort my passport out at the embassy. A decent selection of Swedish homeware stuff like towels, trays, candles and similar

Also one in Bromley, inside the Glades shopping centre might be a bit far out for you though.

Mipil · 10/12/2024 20:40

If you’re going to Marylebone, it’s probably worth going to Selfridges, Liberty and Heals as I think they all stock some Scandi brands. Sostrene Grene has a branch near Heals on Tottenham Court Road. It’s great for stylish stocking fillers - small home accessories, teas, candles, food, sweets, stationery, crafts and wooden toys, lovely but probably not the kind of thing you are looking for. Also, it’s pretty much been stripped bare the past few times I’ve been 😂 They had some lovely wrapping paper and boxes to wrap your gift though!

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 10/12/2024 20:43

Nordic nest deliver pretty quick and they have the iittala tealight holders that make nice gifts

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 10/12/2024 22:03

Nordic Nest is amazing. I have to limit myself to ordering once a year because I could very, very easily go totally overboard.
