How can I make myself feel Christmassy?

I usually love Christmas, but I'm just not feeling it this year (could be due to how I feel physically- first trimester). I have 2 DC that still believe and want to rally myself round for them. We've done tree and decs, I've ordered/bought everything (still need to wrap) apart from food shopping which DH will do. I am just not feeling it and would love some tips on how to get in the mood for DC sake? Does anyone else feel this way?

With your children:
Once it’s dark, get dressed up and go for a walk round the local streets to look at Christmas lights. Depending on the age of the children you could have a min competition to see which pnce they liked the best. Finish back at home with hot chocolate and marshmallow.
Mine always liked doing Christmas crafts - do you have a pound shop/ the Works for Christmas bits and pieces?
Find a children’s Christmas service at a local church - ours has a Christmas Messy Church, with crafts, play and story and songs, and then on Christmas Eve a dress-up Nativity.
For you:
Christmas film with a hot chocolate
By a cheap Christmas paperback and read it in your pjs - candles always improve the atmosphere in the room
Christmas playlists on Spotify
Long bath watching a Christmas film

I hear you OP! Coming up to the end of my first trimester at the same time that my little one has turned feral and wants to crawl/stagger towards every nook and cranny of every room! The tiredness is no joke 😭

Can you have a look at a nice Christmas cookie recipes to maybe get the children involved in? I saw an amazing one that I'm going to do, they're called NYC Christmas cookies and they look easy to cook and delicious!
Go and treat yourself to some lovely new fluffy pjs and slippers
Watch a Christmas movie and have a hot chocolate bar set up! Lots of whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, marshmallows etc
Get a Christmas playlist on and wrap some presents
Even though your DH is sorting out the food shop, have a look at some of the delicious Christmas food they're selling in the supermarkets (M&S especially!) to get some ideas of some little extras
Can you and the children make a list of anything special they'd like to do over the Christmas break? Even small things like any special movies they'd like to watch or puzzles/games they'd like do!

@MaltipooMama that's actually scary, my DD asked me to make some a few days ago (I made them earlier on in the year)!

Thank you both so much for the lovely suggestions, I really appreciate it Smile

It wouldn’t work for everybody, I know, but if I want to get in the mood, I listen to traditional carols e.g. In The Bleak Midwinter, Good King Wenceslas, See Amid the Winter Snow, sung by proper choirs (not mucked about) on YouTube. A glass of mulled wine on the side certainly helps! 🎄🍷

Don’t try too hard. Your body is working its socks off without you putting extra pressure on it. Rest, relax, snooze in front of the Christmas tree lights. It will still be magical on Christmas morning.
