National Trust memberships

Hi all,
I want to get a Christmas gift of a National Trust family membership for my husband, we had one a couple years ago and he loved it! The family membership is two adults (18+) and children, however my eldest is now over 18, can I omit this information when I buy a membership? Is there another option?
Thank you for your responses!

I don't know about National Trust, but National Trust for Scotland does a young adult membership for age 16-25 for £3.25 per month. NTS has reciprocal arrangements with NT meaning that NTS members can access all NT properties as well as NTS ones. Really great value.

Your eldest, at 18, is not eligible to be included in the NT family membership.

You could buy them a separate membership. The under 26 membership is £45.60 for a year.

Buy your husband the membership, then just pay for your 18 year old seperately when they join you.

If you do all go together all the time you visit you need to get a couples membership and a young adult (u25)

How much over 18?

Floralnomad · 08/12/2024 19:12

Just buy your adult child their own individual membership if you think they would make use of it . My sister buys me NT membership every year for my birthday ( for myself and my daughter) and we use it extensively

Buy National Trust Scotland much cheaper and can use without problem in England

Thank you all for your advice! My eldest has only just turned 18 so I wasn't sure if we could just pretend she was 17 and sneak her in with the family membership?

I absolutely did this for several years!

In fact with English heritage ( I have both), I'd rock up with our family card and 3 kids, 2 of which are in their 20s and we are never charged for the adult kids.

If he's only just turned 18 you can totally get a couple more years.

WillowTit · 10/12/2024 20:29

will the 18 year old want their own one though?
