Yes, I've seen the other thread about buying for mothers but I'm looking for thoughts on my particularly tricky mother...
She has chronic ill health so doesn't leave the house very often
She can't read very well
She doesn't watch TV
She doesn't really use the internet (apart from YouTube videos)
She's not adventurous at all with food
She's not into make-up
She's diabetic so no nice boxes of chocolates
She likes smellies but is inundated and wants no more
I'm completely at a loss.
Her house need a full renovation which I'd be happy to pay for and arrange. But her poor health makes it tricky and I don't live close so its difficult.
I've previously suggested I'd buy her a stair lift (because she can't really manage her stairs) or arrange and pay for a cleaner (because she can't really manager her cleaning) but she's said a hard no to both.
For her birthday, I got her the full Chanel No 5 range and a Dyson Air Blade with air purifier.
For her next birthday, I'm planning on buying her a new sofa when I go to visit. She sleeps on the sofa and hers is knackered.
She'll be visiting me at Christmas so we'll go for a meal. And I'll get her a calendar that she's asked for. But, apart from this, I have zero ideas.
Please throw some thoughts my way. I'll likely end up saying "Can't do that because...". Please don't take that the wrong way, she's just an incredibly difficult person to buy for.
