Have you decorated your kitchen for Christmas...?

If you have, can I see it, please? Or will you tell me about it?

I have a solitary tiny tree in here, a light up glass one on the table, and a perpetual Advent Calendar.

Nothing we have is shouting at me to go up & I haven't had time tp <squeeze> in making paper chains like usual!

Inspire me...please?!

Yes! I decorate every room! Lounge, dining room, hall, landing, bathroom, all bedrooms. In the kitchen I have tinsel draped over pictures on the wall, poinsettia in the corner, tinsel around the cooker and hob, Victorian Christmas scenes (like models) on the worktop, a Christmassy-looking steam train on the window ledge, (18" long,) a wooden Merry Christmas sign in the window (with a candle arch underneath,) and a 2 ft tall Christmas tree in the window with 60 fairy lights on it (twinkling.) Also have a couple of Christmas scene painting on the wall, (that I swap the Autumn scene paintings for.)

As for the NO! It's only December 1st poster. PMSL. Christmas is a SEASON. (That goes from the beginning of December to 6th January!) It's not just a day! Get a grip. It's not like it's November 1st FGS!

It's officially CHRISTMAS 🎄now!

You're confused with Advent, which traditionally is the season (of fasting and penance) before Christmas.

No I'm not. 🙄

You, and the person who posted before you on the previous page, to say 'NO I DON'T HAVE MY KITCHEN DECORATED COZ IT'S ONLY DECEMBER the 1st,' clearly CBA to have Christmas decorations til Christmas Eve (and then probably take them down Boxing Day. 🙄.No need to shit all over everyone who loves to have Christmas decorations up from December 1st! Hmm #scrooge

No not yet .. we will 'go' much earlier than usual on the 15th .. but they stay up until 12th night ..

I have a windowsill which I cover in the tackiest tinsel models I can find.....courtesy of The Range.

I have a tinsel house, tinsel car, tinsel tree, tinsel dinosaur and 2 tinsel dogs.

I also have Christmas themed tea towels and we put a tree up in there as well. Sometimes we put the felt tree the kids loved when they were little, up in thr utility.

We have some simple greenery garlands and a couple of bows over the wide kitchen window, and I also have a small wreath on the extractor fan unit. And I have some jingle bell & star decorations hanging in one or two places. Nothing huge, just a few little things :) The greenery makes a big difference!

Not yet, but I have a hanging light fixture over the island that lends itself to having a battery operated lit garland. Its a red and gold theme this year so I might put a few red and gold ornaments up there with fairy lights in between. Downstairs is all open plan and I put fairy lights up at the wall of glass over looking the garden and draped across the front too.

Our kitchen is also the dining room and so I’m planning to have several pots of Paperwhite Narcissus and an Amarillis on the table and sideboard with green velvet ribbon around the pots (fingers crossed they open!).
There are fairy lights around the mirror and French windows. Have also just ordered some cans of silver spray paint and plan to have a mix or silver and natural green ivy hanging from lights and draped around the place. May have to replace this on Xmas Eve as it really dries out when the room gets hot.

Mine stay up to twelfth night, as is traditional. You were dismissive in your post (below) and got a brusque answer. Your latest post was just as dismissive, but happy Christmas anyway.

Not yet but I will do:

Lights in a long swag on top of the cupboards though it steals a powerpoint
Festive oilcloth for the table ( kitchen/diner)
Some stickers for the french doors ( in the corners)
A couple of sticker for the window that have a tiny light ( candle and wreath pictures )
A couple of chunky LED candles in vases on the windowsill
Various Christmassey plates and mugs
Christmas tea towels
Christmas straws already out

I like a bit of decoration but it has to be well out of the way .
Probably do next Friday

I've got garlands with lights on top of all my cupboards, they give a really nice festive glow to the kitchen. Like this (not my picture) but without the draping down lights which would surely get in the way of opening the cupboard doors.

I love that garland idea, might try that next year 😀

Thanks all! Lots of inspiration to go on.

So far I've bought a couple of new foil garlands & bells for the ceiling. Bells at dd2's request. And some snow spray to try my hand at some <ahem> "art" in the windows, since it's not as on display as the living room & my friends won't care when I proudly show off my latest thing to try! 🤣

I love the garland idea but have a stupid kitchen, with no wall cupboards, just bottom ones 🙄 so will have to have a think about where/how I could use those.

Tooooo late for this year too, but I've seen loads of cardboard gingerbread house decoration on tiktok & sort of wondered about that around the tops of the walls.

That cupboard-top garland looks lovely!

We have some decorations in the kitchen / diner but I've not unpacked them yet. Christmas mugs, candles on the window sills, chain of silver stars or fairy lights along a high shelf, sometimes stars or snowflakes on the windows. Closer to Christmas I make a bauble and foliage arrangement with some holly and pine cones and any branches trimmed from the tree.

DCs used to make paper chains when they were younger but now we hang a bauble or two on ribbons.
