Can anyone explain to me what it is? And is it ‘trendy’ for a 11 year old?

OP posts:
endofthisera · 27/11/2024 21:34

Very trendy with tweens and up

endofthisera · 27/11/2024 21:36

Sorry should have said it's make up etc. have a look on Instagram

Username12284949 · 27/11/2024 21:36

The 3 for £25 lip duos are very popular.

CandyCane457 · 27/11/2024 21:44

I teach 8/9 year old girls and they are obsessed! I don’t know much about it but I’m curious as I’ve never heard an adult woman talk about it/use it, but as another poster mentioned, the girls go mad for the three for £25 lip balms/glosses, which I think are really pricey for kids make up! But maybe I’m just out of touch 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 27/11/2024 22:07

I've been Googling it as I have a 9 yr old niece and I came across a thread in Reddit that said it's fairly decent for kids, even though apparently it isn't aimed at kids. They said not to buy Drunk Elephant as that's more aimed at teenage skin. I've heard her mention Bubble Skincare too...

When I was her age I'm sure we were obsessing over light up yoyos and tamagotchis 🤣
So I've bought her a lip gloss or something for lips anyway, in the PLousie Black Friday sale and a genuine Stanley mug thing. Coz ofcourse a kid that age wants a £35 massive mug thing 😫

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 27/11/2024 22:11

Make up aimed at tweens. TikTok marketing at its best. I've bought a couple of sets for Dts.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 27/11/2024 22:12

Ooh @ShinyPrettyThings87 the Stanley's are very much out of favour here

TribeofFfive · 27/11/2024 22:15

Byoma, bubble, glow recipe, drunk elephant and PLouise are very much the tween girl “in things” DD has requested more of all the above for her birthday. Oh, and Sol De Janeiro.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 27/11/2024 22:22

@boulevardofbrokendreamss whaaaaat... Oh no 😭 I'm hoping as with usual, here will be the land that time forgot and we'll be behind with the trends for a few more months. Damn Tiktok, I thought I was going to be the best Auntie ever 😭🤣 thanks for the heads up, I might discreetly find out her thoughts on them before gifting it 🤞

How on earth do they know about it. I know there is a big warehouse type shop but I assumed it was mostly online. My granddaughter has never heard of it but she's not allowed on any social media.

I don’t think they really want it, it’s more of a social contagion. Fitting in.

TokyoSushi · 27/11/2024 22:32

Yep, much reduced online at the moment, especially the 3 for £25 lip balm sets, the packaging is really lovely when it arrives though.

They have big sisters and they’re probably trying to copy them and, and mums who are willing to pay for it. It’s an interesting age to teach as some of them are like teenagers already, whereas others are still so innocent and into toys etc.

Cornflakelover · 27/11/2024 22:40

Well I’m 51 and use it and it’s really good stuff especially the concealer bb cream

my friend is a make up artist and says it’s fab and use it’s for professional shoots

Ive bought some for my niece and myself for Xmas frok tick tock

Drunk Elephant isn't any more suitable for teen skin than tween skin. Even the founder has gone on record to say so. Their products are designed for adult skin.

Same here. My 9 year old had never heard of this.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 27/11/2024 23:04

@eRobin yep, her best friend is a dancer so I'm assuming she's a heavy influence on the make up stuff. Her parents are very much The Jones'! But I remember what it was like when everyone else had the cool, new things and we couldn't afford it so I don't mind indulging her at Christmas.

@PinkArt I didn't notice how old that Reddit thread was but yes, goes to show we need to research before following trends for the young ones.

I also remember that.
but obviously try and let her figure out who she is personally as she needs to get to know herself and her own interests

LemograssLollipop · 18/05/2025 09:47

Appreciate this is an old thread....

Is there any difference ordering from tik tok or via the plouise website direct? I don't use tik tok.

Crazymummy1984 · 14/09/2025 00:19

I am thinking same...I have just purchased the advent calendar...and like previous posts have asked how do they hear about it? Answer is school mates and siblings...I think its ridiculous skin care at their age..but who am Iol

Rmarshall · 23/11/2025 11:26

Appalling don’t buy from here.
We bought various p Louise things for our daughter for Christmas they took ages to come. Then when they did come the package was open the Royal Mail man said it must of ripped in the van but I think everything is still in. So took it in and found the full contents was gone just an empty box contacted p Louise and they said there is no evidence it was gone sent pictures and a video of the same postman the day after saying it was open when he delivered it they wanted nothing to do with it and wouldn’t give us a refund or replacement for stolen goods. Told us to chase it up with Royal Mail when there the ones that should be doing that as they booked them to deliver the goods SHOCKING DONT BUY FROM P LOUISE
