Any gift inspiration for PC Gamers? He's 14.

Has asked for a very expensive gaming mouse at £125. But I need to fill out with some other bits and pieces. He gotta good quality headset last year and double monitor.

His game of choice is rainbow 6 siege, but he's not interested in merch.
Obvious choice would be a steam voucher but his you get brother is going to have a pile of gifts so I'd like some things for him to open.

You could go storage- an SSD external hard drive, if he likes to download lots of media. Or, if he's looking to start streaming on twitch, you could look at getting him a mic or the broadcasting software. Alternatively, if he's into coding, you could look at a python book or similar (depending on his experience level).

I know you said he doesn't like merch, but does he like lego? here's some good gaming sets out there, lego have a Tallneck from Horizon, fortnite themed sets, etc. Theres some really cool moving Pokemon ones from Megabloks that my DS15 enjoyed building last year, but he's also liked the zelda themed sets from amazon.

Gaming keyboard?

Epomaker make some really good ones. You can get them on Amazon.

Thanks, I did think about a gaming microphone, is it useful even if he doesn't stream?

He's not shown an interest in coding.

He's long passed the Lego, Fortnite and Pokémon phase I'm afraid, not since primary school. He's very much into girls, expensive aftershave and fashionable (to him) clothes. I thought maybe the gaming angle might be good for Xmas as it seems to be his only other interest at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestion, he has an Apex Pro keyboard that he got with birthday money so I don't think that would need upgraded yet.

A decent mike would be good if he ever is multiplayer with friends and they can communicate.

Gaming chair?
Neck & shoulder massager (dh is a pc gamer and on occasion uses my back massager if he's had a "stressful" game)
Hard drive?
Poster of games he likes?
A sign for his door saying "gamer at play enter at your own risk" (etsy are good for cutesy bits if you search gamer gifts)

Displates are good for (metal) games posters, we have a couple up in our "office" although not useful if he isn't interested in merch maybe!

Foot switch control might be worth getting? Useful for some extra keys or just push to talk.

I got DH some new key caps for his keyboard, even on a good keyboard it's sometimes nice to have options - textured keys for w/a/s/d or coloured keys.

Decent wrist rest! And a new mouse mat to go with the new mouse? I prefer the full desk type mats.

Headset stand / holder - nice to have somewhere proper to put it.

In our house everything has a ridiculous amount of RGB - fans, keyboards, mice, headset stand, all light up like a disco. If DS also enjoys this then maybe strip LEDs for either the desk edge or to back light the monitor?

A holder for his controller? Or does he exclusively use a keyboard and mouse? DH has a gaming pc and uses both

DinosaurOfFire · 27/11/2024 22:09

A deskmat/ giant mousemat maybe? You can get big ones which cover the majority of the desk area, Steel Series make nice large thick ones that are good quality and great for gaming. A peg board for his wall to hold his gaming accessories maybe?

bingobanjo · 27/11/2024 22:10

A mousemat? Especially an extra large one if his desk is big enough. I love the freedom of not falling off the edge when I’m gaming!

I second this displate recommendation! Some amazing stuff on there.

Games pass? Subscriptions?

Some good ideas here, thank you. He has most of these things already but it has given me a couple of ideas.
