Christmas presents for a severely autistic boy

I have a 11 year old boy who is severely autistic. Hes non verbal with a learning disability and I’m really struggling with what to get him for Christmas. Hes just this last year understood the concept of opening a present and there is something inside he might like!

He can’t read/write or draw, he can’t use an iPad and doesn’t play video games.

Does anyone have any ideas of any sensory/light things that they have come across?

He has had a lot over the years and has most things already so I’m looking for some something I may not have seen before.

Already have stuff such as a black out tent, ceiling light, different types of sensory balls etc.

So far I have already got him his fav sweets, smellies, bath bombs, fluffy socks, a few sensory bits, infinity wall light.

Thanks.

Don't dismiss things like a very robust tablet - dsd learned to use one aged 25! Complex disabilities including autism, severe ld's, a syndrome etc and she's learned a few new skills in her 20's, tidying up alas isn't one of them.

I've picked up one of those magic painting books and I bought a chunky paint brush as she can't hold a standard pen shaped one

On Amazon they do various sets of about 10 different fidget twiddle toys

Jelly fish lamp?

This was my first thought. They are really quite hypnotic.

How about hexbugs?

He already has a iPad but he has no interest in it at all at the moment, except to occasionally watch Disney+ on a long car journey 😊

Space hopper?
Lava lamp?
Disco ball?
Slime? Ingredients to make different textures of slime?
Fleecy beanbag?

Thank you, we have all of those except the space hopper and I have no room for a space hopper 🤣

@Snorlax1013 love the spinning chair. I think he would use it. Although not sure where I would put it ha

I feel your dilemma!

My son loves cause and effect so I’ve bought him this https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/bowling-championship-game-399022?srsltid=AfmBOorj2m5kYFK-hUdWwrdvmHF44ep9Rrqm6RHkzbOaePEV2lp57Syx as he seems to like things falling down! He used to love his ball run toy when he was younger so I picked up this as well in the 2 for £20 offer as figured it’s a similar concept https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/dual-racer-speedway-car-and-track-playset-409942

I hope you find something he likes 😘

I'm going to have to go back and look through all the suggestions

In this house, play doh is still a huge hit, as is a Tonie box. If you have space a swing or indoor trampoline.

Are there any special interests?
