I have a 14 year old nephew to buy for that's into sailing. I only have £50 to spend because I have to buy for his brother too.

13 year old boy into rugby - £50. What would you buy?

Are sailing and rugby the only things they're into?

I have sailors? If he is sailing over winter what about the rooster combination gloves? They are 45 quid and you can put a hand warmer in the pouch. But can flip the mittens back for flexibility when actually sailing.

The rooster hot socks also great! All the sailing kids seem to love rooster... So that's a good start.

I'm afraid I know nothing about rugby

I usually got mine a t shirt with sailing on it, or a good water bottle, or a gift voucher from wetsuit outlet. Rugby just need to find out team, lots of merch.

Ds is getting a Kitsack backpack thing with space for a rugby ball. It's the in thing for young teen rugby players around our way apparently

I have to buy for a 12 year old boy. I usually check with his mother, but last year I got him a pizza blanket and a desk air shooting game and I'm told they were well-received. The parents may of course have lied to spare my feelings 😅.

This year will probably be the last year I'll give a gift, and then we'll move to a voucher and personalised chocolate bar for the teen years.

My 14yo DS sails and plays rugby. Gloves are a good call for the sailor as they are always being left all over the place and the more pairs the better because changing into a dry pair between outings is essential in the winter- same with socks. Any cold weather gear (snoods etc) is good because they need loads of it. They tend to have loads of dry bags and hats because they are often prizes at events.

You could just go with a Rooster and Rugby Store voucher.

Fabulous ideas. Not keen on vouchers tbf although I have no creativity which is why I'm checking here. Will look into those gloves especially.

Squeezy water bottle for the rugby player and May be a beanie hat for the 6 nations or anything for the lions tour.

Needanewname42 · 22/11/2024 22:31

I would have a word with the parents see if they have any ideas.
The gloves sound fab but they might already own them or similar.

SweetSakura · 22/11/2024 22:33

I'd ask the parents!

Rugby mum here, 13yr old obsessed son.
Gain the edge socks, gum shield, t shirt of fave team, windbreaker, club shorts, ticket for a game, size 5 rugby ball are a few things.

A book about how to tie knots for the sailing lad, or a sailors knife..it has special spikes and such. You can also get clips thingies that attach your hat to your shirt in case it blows off in the wind
