I'm usually the one in the family who does the creative cooking and gifts homemade stuff (often on top of regular gifts) but feeling a bit burnt out this year so looking for exciting and impressive things that can be packaged up for hampers and can be done a couple of days before the event.

Previously have made..
candies nuts
Hot chocolate truffles (that you put into hot milk)
regular truffles
Marzipan
lemon/lime curd/jam/chutney
nugat (never again!)
brownies

Can you inspire me with your creations?

I absolutely adore homemade fudge, my dsis makes everyone lovely jars of it every year. It's my favourite present out of everything.

Have a look at the Christmas Good food magazine or on their website they usually have a whole feature on homemade Christmas food gifts

I've have some very bad luck with fudge. It always crystallises. Do you have a fudgy type fudge recipe you could recommend??

I made sparkly Christmas jam at the weekend. It’s a good food mag recipe with edible glitter. I adapted it to use frozen fruit as I’m running down the freezer… and it’s so tasty!! The second jar was intended for a present and I might have to keep it and make more 😂
It was really easy and cheap let me know if you’d like recipe 🎄

Peppermint creams

Cheese straws
Anchovy twists

Am I correct you still want to make the home-made things? By burnt out, you just meant burnt out making the same old things? I started a whole list of things, as thought you meant you wanted store bought inspiration. Ignore me!

-Panforte https://thisitaliankitchen.com/panforte/
-Too late to pick sloes, but you could make plum brandy (steep plums in brandy with sugar). I've made prune brandy before. Stick a whole chilli in vodka for vodka chilli. Or some werthers for caramel vodka or gin.
-Olive oils or vinegars with garlic, rosemary, chilli, or thyme steeped in them.www.lucismorsels.com/diy-holiday-gift-infused-olive-oil/

Panforte Recipe (Traditional Italian Christmas Cake)

Panforte di Siena is a traditional Italian recipe made with dried fruit, nuts, and spices. This is the traditional Italian Christmas cake!

another vote for biscotti. It's surprisingly cheap and easy to make considering the sky high prices that they charge for it in the shops. It is easy to do in big batches too, which is ideal if you want to gift it to numerous people. I've had great success with the recipes on the BBC good food site.

Probably both. A bit creatively burned out. I'm open to buying stuff too, perhaps I should make things easier on myself 😫

@Cerialkiller I think being kinder to yourself is always a good idea 🥰

Maybe is there something you’d really enjoy making that would be easy, then you could buy a couple of things to go with it.

So if you like making chutney, you could do that and add crackers and cheese.

Or you could make hot chocolate stirrers and put them with marshmallows and mug toppers and sprinkles.

And if you’re feeling burnt out and need a rest; maybe do a game and some (bought) snacks, and see how you feel next year 🎄❤️

Some ideas of pre-made things which are equally delicious IMO. Yes, I have added them on similar threads so might look familiar.

-Panforte. Most supermarkets have then in their deluxe range and comes in a box. It keeps for months and it so moorish with a coffee or on its own.
-This bacon jam is lovely on a roll, chachuterie board etc. Sainsburys used to sell it, but I could only find this link. https://www.bodnant-welshfood.co.uk/product-page/eat-17-bacon-jam
-These hibiscus flowers are similar to a candied fruit and edible. They are a sweetness to wine/champagne and just look really pretty. www.lakeland.co.uk/40294/wild-hibiscus-flowers-in-syrup-for-sparkling-drinks
