Christmas Traditions and Magic

Hello,
I feel like Christmas is coming around really quickly !!
I absolutely love this time of year and finding ways to make Christmas as magical as possible for my children. Every year, we have a “North Pole breakfast”, we decorate the table, and have a treat breakfast with waffles, doughnuts, and hot chocolate etc. My girls look forward to it every year.
I would love some new ideas, and to hear what others do—what are your family’s Christmas traditions? What little things do you do to make Christmas magical/memorable for your children/family? 🎄

We go out for brunch and the the matinee panto on Christmas Eve. This year will be the first one we've not done it as DC (in their 20s) are working!

We also polish a red apple for Rudolph. This used to keep them quiet for ages as they tried to get theirs the shiniest!

Aww that sounds lovely.
I would love to take my girls to a panto, I think my youngest is at an age now where she would really enjoy it.
The shiny red apple sounds like a great idea.

My little boy is 3 years old and for his past 3 Christmases (including when he was just under 4 months old!!) we made cookies for Santa and left them out with a carrot and milk on his personalised board 🤗

I stocked up on 3 big rolls of the same wrapping paper when it was his first Christmas so he can always have the same wrapping paper from Santa (Santa brings a want, need, wear and read so the paper should last!!). Santa also brings a stocking but we don’t wrap them (just reach in and pull things out) as I wouldn’t be able to squeeze as much in with wrapping paper on 😂 We open stockings (me and my partner do one for each other too) and Santa presents in/on our bed when we wake up then we open all of the other presents in the afternoon after visiting grandparents 🎁

We do Christmas Eve boxes too with new pjs, a snack, a drink and a small activity. I put a bath bomb in my little boys which he then uses in the bath with his Dada whilst I bring all the presents downstairs for the morning and set it all up 🥹 We have been to Toby Carvery for Christmas Eve the past 2 years and will hopefully do the same this year depending what time my partner finishes work and then we have buffet food on Christmas Day and a takeaway on Boxing Day 😋

I’ve booked a couple of days out and a couple of Christmas themed toddler/pre-school classes as well 🤗

We used to do a Christmas Eve tradition of driving round and looking at all the Christmas lights
As an adult I have done this with DP and we paired it with a McDonalds drive thru
