Another year of having no idea what to get my husband. I think last year there were a bunch of people with a similar problem so any ideas would be more than welcome.
Sounds like a boring sod but he's actually quite nice - but - not interested in gaming, tech, games, telly or movie stuff, sports, alcohol related gifts, homewares, camping, cooking. I wish he was as easy as that!
He just works (not an office job), tends to be one of those guys that disappears down the street and ends up chatting all day to folk.

A guided tour somewhere? I get one for my husband every year (this year I've got him a guided tour of the Harry Potter thing in London) but we've done museums, sports grounds, cathedrals and theatres (the Royal Shakespeare in Stratford is a really good one as they take you around everywhere). They're really great.

Tickets to a show always go down well too.

We did a guided tour of the Royal Opera House - it was excellent! So interesting and I loved seeing behind the scenes. I've never even been to an opera but i plan to now!

Buy him a Grinch T shirt.

My primary interest was hedgehogs, which we have seen loads of now but without the cameras wouldn't have seen at all.

Footage please.

Bear with. We are having full fibre connected to the house tomorrow so when it is sorted I might be better placed to post some of my best clips

I think I've put this on another thread but a hat from the Cotswold Hat Company and we bought DH a wildlife camera. He loves seeing whats been in the garden at night (I quite enjoy it too)

Both of those sound like great gifts-can you share the details of the camera?

Purplebunnie · 20/11/2024 14:17

This is the camera:
Nexcam Solar Powered wildlife Camera WiFi 64MP Bluetooth trail Game Camera with 120 degrees PIR Scouting Camera with Night Vision for Wildlife Monitoring - Amazon.
Sorry don't have a link it was bought some time ago but if you copy and paste the above and put it in Amazon it takes you to some cameras

We see a variety of wildlife on our camera. There was a magpie who used to pose in front of the same the same time every morning. Unfortunately we have a Mr Rat, we've had to abandon our compost bin because of him.

I've tried to attach a video of our hedgehog but have failed - sorry I'm not very techy. Not sure how long they live so the one currently in our garden may be one of the two we found in our garage or it may be one of their children. We have built a wooden home and shove leaves in it. We provide water throughout the summer but I think I may need to provide food this winter. Looks like it needs fattening up😀

I'll ask for help from the techy people in our house and perhaps try again to upload the video

Some other ideas. I know OP you said your DH doesn't cook, but what about a course? A friend did a BBQ cooking school which he loved.

I'm imagining these men just sitting there staring at a wall.

I don't understand how you got together with them. I like someone with hobbies and interests, someone with something to talk about.

Met him when we were 16 and 17 😜

Im happily off doing my own thing 😁

AgathaLioness · 20/11/2024 18:23

My dh is similar - likes football but he's not bothered by all the gunk that gets sold for it, just enjoys watching the matches. He reads but has a load of books already and doesnt want any more atm. He doesnt work outside, isnt into exercise or playing any sports. He has most of everything he needs.

Add to that we have a very small budget which throws off ideas of hotel stays or experience days out etc

EasyPeelings · 20/11/2024 18:31

Ugh! This is the aspect of Christmas that I so dislike - the feeling of obligation to buy something, anything, purely because of the date. It really grates.

If he doesn't need anything and isn't interested then why buy anything at all? Surely this can be discussed with him. You - "I have no idea what get you for Christmas." Him - "I don't really want or need anything, thanks." You - "so, are you OK with me not getting you anything this year?" Him - "yes, no problem."

Sorted!

@Sparkles29

Enjoy, we only have it running at night, otherwise our cats would be on it all the time😂
