Ideas for outdoorsy dad

My dad is very hard to buy for. I would love any ideas

Early 60s
Very outdoorsy and fit - loves to hike, climb, sail, kayak and will also attempt any other outdoor hobby. Has lots of kit for all of this.
Also likes DIY, making things.
Quite artistic too.

Previously I had bought vouchers to do activities but 1) he's done almost every outdoor challenge/activity and 2) now he's retired hes so busy it's hard to get a date for things.

Overall budget about £40? Maybe £50 at a push.

Warm clothes for hiking?? Base layers etc?? Subscription to a walking group)/national trust so he can explore and walk?? Boat trip to see some wildlife?? Men are so difficult to buy for!!! 🤣 Know I'm going to get in trouble for saying that 🤣

Ordnance Survey map subscription for phone. It’s £20 a year for all access to everything down to 1:20000

He honestly has SO MANY outdoors clothes @shellyleppard and is a member of four different clubs (2 mountaineering and 2 more sedate). He's not into birds but there may be others for different kinds of wildlife

@Billybagpuss it's a great idea but again he has it and is affluent enough that it'll just be on an auto renew subscription.

A hamper of Graze snacks?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/11/2024 16:18

Expensive hiking socks - ones that most people think are too expensive to bother buying for themselves

I like the idea of a hamper of Graze snacks - add some Tunnocks wafer bars and some Kendall mint cake for best daughter brownie points!

Hip flask and whisky

Swiss Army knife
Hamper of wine, cheese, chocolate etc
Oodie or dry robe
Solo stove (it's more expensive though)

check out the OS shop. I have Ben Nevis and Scafel on micro towels they’re lovely dead easy to fit in a back pack. There’s also loads of other gift options

OS Ben Nevis Micro Towel

Dry off with the Ben Nevis. Whether you're day tripping or hiking to the peak of Ben Nevis - admire the landscape wherever you are.
