Nintendo switch for 4 and 6 year olds?

My 6 year old DD really wants a switch for Xmas but this will be tricky for DS as there's only 18 months between them and they want everything to be the same at all times! DS is a very intelligent little boy so I think he'd know how to use it. He loves using his tablet but he likes doing puzzles and loves number games and things like that. Would there be any games suitable for him to play on it if we do get him one?

Yes...but it'd be a case of spending some time with him on them. The first game DS played was The Last Campfire puzzle game only at 3.5, he loves all those puzzle games e.g Monument Valley on tablet. He played it and played it again and again until he could do all the puzzles by himself but he needed help with it for a long time. He then moved onto Gardens Between a tricky time based puzzle game. You just might have to be prepared to get a bit involved with quite tricky puzzle games yourself.😆 Then there's Minecraft which has been endless fun.

He keeps mentioning Minecraft... I thought it was a really violent game but I think I've got this confused with Fortnite? This is all new to me 😂

Minecraft is like building blocks, my DS6 loves creating on there. Yes if you have it in survival mode you get creatures that you have to whack away, but it's not "violent".

Minecraft is great in Builder mode. Get your little one a free download of Toca builder, it’s similar. If dc likes that they’ll love minecraft

Minecraft is pretty harmless but I would avoid Fortnite and Roblox which can contain harmful content. For Minecraft just make sure they're playing offline. There are 2 modes...'survival mode' and 'creative mode'...creative mode is just like a sandpit pit of stuff they can build with endless different blocks...it's basically like Lego. Survival mode can be more brutal, no way of pausing the game, they can lose all their stuff, there's monsters at night etc. Even with survival mode you can 'switch off' the monsters and make everything easy.

Minecraft isn't suitable for a young child. My 7 year old grandson plays it in creative, no monsters, because he can't quite work out how the normal version works and he's an intelligent child who is pretty good at gaming. He might be able to play animal crossing.
