I actually can't believe ima align this! My son is almost 8 and I don't know what to get him for Xmas.
He has always been the EASIEST child to buy for. He's always LOVED his toys and wanted all of them 🙈 But these past few months he's really not seemed that fussed about all the things he's always loved :( and I am struggling to think what he might enjoy for Xmas.

So a few things about him -
Loved gaming. We don't have an Xbox or PS but he has an iPad and switch. I don't want to buy him a console just yet.
He is not a sporty guy and wouldn't appreciate a day out bought him.
He loves collecting little figures but it depends what the flavour of the week is that week 🙈
He loves school and maths and science, are there any interactive books or games like that?
We have Lego that's never been touched from last year.
He likes imaginext and big playsets to play with his figures.
He quite likes slime.
He loves roblox and amongus and all that scene! But there's very limited toys I can find of those.

Thank you 😊

What about a science kit? There’s lots of different ones.

Someone on the Christmas threads recommended Raspberry Pi for kids that like coding - might be enjoy something like that?

A magazine subscription? Beano and Phoenix both have good offers on at the moment.

A musical instrument and instruction book with some simple songs in to learn.

A family board game that plays to his interests? Good luck, my 7 year old has very niche hobbies so is equally tricky to buy for.

Mine wants a football rebounder.
Football strip
Couple of Games for the Switch.
Yesterday I asked why he never plays the switch on the TV always hand held, "because I don't have a controller" so I've added a Switch Pro Controller to his list.

He wants a lego speed car and a jigsaw one.
I'm going to try again with lego, Star Wars rather than City.

I did suggest skateboard 🛹 but he's said no.
I've found it quite hard this year to get a list together. But think I have a decent balance of football, Switch, and toys jigsaw and lego.
That's a birthday and Christmas list to be shared out.

I’ve seen some maze interactive books with mysteries interwoven (put in Pierre maze book) and also books which come with a filter torch to reveal hidden things like different animals - think they’re called naturepedia but theres different ones.

Raspberry Pi is great. It gave my arts-minded DC a lifelong interest in coding and IT (and one is now working in a senior and ridiculously well paid IT job as a direct result).

Look up the Minecraft magnetic blocks. I’ve been considering them for my son, they look quite cool and a bit different. I was thinking they’d be good for making worlds for Pokémon and Superthing figures. I’m hesitating because they’re expensive and I’m not sure which brand to go for yet.

if he likes slime then try giant rainbow bouncing putty from The Works. It’s amazing and doesn’t stick to things as badly as slime.
