Apologies if someone has already started a thread on this already, I couldn't see one. In the past I have often got some good ideas from this forum.

For me it is a double problem because it is DHs birthday a few days after Christmas so I have to get twice the inspiration! So far he has given me no ideas.

I have actually bought his birthday present already - a massive Lego set of NASA Artemis Launch.

Still no ideas for Christmas though.
In the past he has liked Joules Rugby Shirts but he has a few now. None of his favourite authors have a new book out and he has all the hiking equipment he needs at present.

He likes technology and puzzle solving. He is also getting in to model railways since I bought him Hornb Flying Scotsman last year.

I would be interested to hear what people are getting for their OHs

After his display of gluttony this evening I think I will buy him 10kg of mild plastic cheddar 😂

I have the same issue. Birthday just before Christmas.

Previous years presents;
Garmin watch ( he didn't want it but now loves it)
OS app subscription
Lego
Hornsby - trains and craft stuff to make a set with ( when he retires!)
Things for his bike / outdoor stuff.

This year I am getting him a climbing rope.

Off topic but @Noshferatu -- please tell me where you have found GF liquorice all sorts?!

FluffyGreen · 11/11/2024 22:02

New trainers, but he is very fussy, so I am on the search for some.
I have been collecting random cans of IPA as I have seen them throughout the year.
A t shirt with a computer nerd pun on it.
a game called micro macro that we can play together on Christmas Day.
a new checked shirt
a few other little bits and bobs

There's a list somewhere called gifts for men who aren't shit (the gifts but the men are okay too) which has lots of ideas on

AdoraBell · 11/11/2024 22:05

Ralph Lauren socks bought on offer earlier in the year and a rugby shirt.

I didn’t get anything for DH for his birthday so need to spend more than usual on his Christmas present - will probably buy a really nice watch.

My husband has asked for one of these.

Trying to decide whether to get one from the shop or see if they will do one with his tattoos on it?

He's got no space on his body for any more tats (that I'll allow!)!

We don't go mad at Xmas, now we're pensioners. We buy for the grandchildren, with small presents for adults.
This year, he,s getting a good pair of boots and a painting by an artist that he likes.

APurpleSquirrel · 15/11/2024 21:31

For DH I've bought tickets to see The Book of Mormon, some Star Wars T-shirts, a voucher for a Medieval Archery experience.
I'm also planning to get him a fancy bread knife for his sourdough bread.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/11/2024 20:45

Whiskey is always a given for my DH. I buy a bottle every birthday/Christmas/Father's Day and for me it gets oh so boring but I know he'd be so disappointed not to get it!

He's a very keen cyclist and I've just bought him a new cycling jacket as his is falling apart. I got him one of the Proviz fully reflective ones.

He needs a new Apple Pencil as well so keeping eyes open for Black Friday deals.

Choosing a gift for my husband has always been quite a challenge. We’ve been together for over 10 years, and I’ve already tried most gift ideas. Luckily, for some time now, my husband has become interested in survival gear, which makes me really happy — at least I have a better idea of what to get him and what will truly make him happy.

RealPearlDuck · 02/06/2025 08:03

This year I'm getting him a Gardenbox 3d license so that he's finally remember we wanted to rearrange our garden 😂

Tickets to something is always a good idea. Could be an upgraded version of something he already uses or a subscription to something he might need, like a video editing software if he's into making videos or a good photo editor, etc.

There are also subscription services with monthly snack boxes or drinks
