She's not getting huge amounts, as she's getting an iPad as one of her presents which takes up most of the budget. She'll also get an Oodie and some art stuff. I also want to get her some more Warrior Cat books as well.

Can anyone suggest ideas for a pony mad year7 girl?

Can I ask what kind of watch? I'd love to find a nice watch for dd

We recently bought this Smart Watch for DD as she needed to set alarms to remind her to go to her guitar lessons!

So far she loves it, she likes to track her sleep and her steps. I'm thinking about getting one for myself as my Garmin is on the way out and definitely doesn't look as stylish as this one.

Any recommendations for Y7s who are not into fashion or skin care would be amazing. Don't really want to add to the huge pile of craft stuff we already have either. Thanks

Ds in Yr 7 and yesterday presented me with a list for inspiration and there may be items on it your dd would like.

Lego tuxedo cat
Beats ear pods
Insta 360 camera (similar to a go pro)
Magnet fishing kit
Puzzle game from crux games website
Fidget toys - chill pill and coin fig
Forever pen
Some surprises (I've already got him Ransom notes game, a tracksuit, ck1 and Cluedle puzzle book)

He's given a long list as it is his birthday the same week so the list covers ideas for both events!

Tree hut products

Gilet
Bubble tea kit
Victoria secret spray
Victoria secret weekend bag
Nike sweatshirt
Books
Lulu lemon small bag

Does she ride? My year 7 DD is getting new warm riding gloves, riding socks and a new riding hat and carry case as her pony-related gifts. If they ever arrive... don't order from Equus. It's been over a month and they've already missed her birthday. Last year I bought her a personalised notebook from Etsy for pony club, which went down well. If she doesn't ride, how about a pony day at a local stable? They tend to do "own a pony" days during the school holidays, which involve mucking out, feeding, brushing, tacking up and riding.

Other things DD is getting, including her stocking:

  • Boba balls to add to whatever drink she fancies
  • White Fox hoodie in lilac
  • Superga canvas shoes
  • A bag to keep all her wool and crochet bits together as they're currently taking over the living room
  • Face masks
  • "Light - A Physics Fairytale"
  • Starbucks gift card
  • Honeybalm lip balm pot
  • Venchy chocolate tin
  • Byoma hydrating starter kit skincare set
  • Mount Cleverest geography edition
  • "50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know", which is a very funny read for me as a parent and actually contains really good advice, despite the stuffy title

She rides and does pony club. But all quite new and I'm note a horsey mum.

Interesting that White Fox hoodies are still on trend. Dd is still quite short but said she'd like one. I might hold off until next year when they're probably not trendy anymore.

Great thread with lots of good ideas.

Uggs
ski jacket
tickets for women’s rugby World Cup final
Few Cherub books
circular saw for DT

FunFriday · 10/11/2024 12:30

I hadn't heard of the Cherub series, it looks good!

On the topic of books, it's such a tricky age, what's on your year 7 dd's wishlist in terms of books?

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 10/11/2024 13:05

In terms of books, DD isn't a particularly enthusiastic reader but she's enjoyed these ones recently:

The Beast and the Bethany
Lottie Brooks
Witch for a Week
Thorn

Yeah I feel like it’s maybe marketed at boys a bit more - I originally bought it for ds - he sort of aged out before he got to the end but dd loves them. They’re not high literature but they’re pretty good reads.
