We didn’t do a stocking the last two years but now she’s understanding Christmas I want to start the tradition, would like to make it more ‘practical’ items as she’s got so many toys etc coming from family and under the tree. Thank you!

Mine will have:

  • Chistmassy chocolate (I noticed Aldi had some cute little mini tubs of chocolate Christmas figures like father Christmases and snowmen).
  • Christmas bath bomb (for Christmas night!)
  • Clementine
  • Fluffy Socks (Frozen)
  • Cutlery set (Frozen)
  • Temporary tattoos (undecided whether to go Christmassy for these or not!)
  • Small soft toy (Specific animal that she's asked for a baby version of).

That's probably all that will fit!

I don't buy specific stocking gifts, I just put in what DD would get anyway as long as it has the right size.

books
Soft toys
Bath stuff
Socks
T-Shirt
small game
small toys like Playmobil or Lego

She always gets a Toblerone or Terry's Orange

When my son was small I themed the stocking. At 3 he loved cars so he got a sock full of cars including an annoying musical icecream van and some colour change ones. I think i put chocolate buttons in too because chocolate at 5am feels like an important tradition to me!.

Age 4 was a sock full of small plastic sea creatures.

Age 5 was stationary, so glittery colouring pens, washi tape, ink stamps and shaped hole punches.

Themes worked well because it was exciting without being loads of things to be overwhelming.

Now he gets a more normal stocking with things like chocolate, a card game, a Eugy model, a whoopee cushion. I like using a real long sock as opposed to a fake stocking so whatever he gets has to squish in to it.
