Is there anything you're hoping not to get this year?

I know how awfully ungrateful it can sound, but is there anything you're hoping you don't open?

I think for me it's another ladies Lynx set. Really not a fan of it and it always inevitably gets shoved to the back of the cupboard and forgotten about until the next year when more get added to the collection 🙃

It doesn't sound like it, but I am grateful people are thinking of me, but I'd rather just get a nice handwritten card instead 😕

Ferrero fucking Roche.

I have a nut allergy and still get given these (by family, who know I’m allergic) every fucking year.

Worse still I get eczema creams and soaps wrapped up. Not sure if I’m very ungrateful and it’s actually very thoughtful but I hate pretending to like chemist creams.

Oh, that is a bit off. Not ungrateful at all.

Pink gin 🙈 I feel terribly ungrateful but I don’t like sweet alcohol. My youngest daughter will have it though if I get some.

Same, in fact any kind of flavoured gin - I think because I drink gin people assume it’s a treat but I just like gin, not the sweet sickly stuff :(

Scented candles - can't stand them. They all end up being donated to the village fete in the summer

I saw a post on social media earlier this week along the lines of 25 gifts she'll love under £25.
I flicked through it, and there was nothing that grabbed my attention:
Books
Cosmetics & body stuff
Stationery
Gloves
Clothes
Candles and other room scent stuff

I guess I'm just very fussy, so very lucky I get a few presents I usually love. The kids know I'll eat all the lindor, DH usually comes up with something decent (no idea how, even I don't know what I want) and I cobble some suggestion for my parents. DHs family don't do presents.

We have just got a daschund puppy. I love him immeasurably. I will not really love the endless daschund themed gifts, (socks, cushions, mugs, coasters, earrings, scarves. tea towels etc etc etc) that I am now probably going to receive. I know this will happen as we also have two Jack Russell's and for the last 8 years I have received quite alot of Jack Russell themed items. The sausage dog seems to be on even more things at the minute so I'm sunk Smile

Other than that I'm
Very easy to buy for as I love the things other people seem to hate:
Candles big tick
Socks: love
Soap/hand cream/body lotion: yes please

Novelty socks. I hate them.

Same issue here but cats. I love my cat very very much. That doesn't mean I want mugs, ornaments, paintings and cushions covered in cats, which I then have to display. My actual cat is enough.

As a teacher I hate all the families spending/wasting money on those "best teacher" plaques, mugs, teddies etc. Pens and things we can use are fine but please don't waste money on the tat. Most of our families have no money and I hate to see them spending it on stuff that will go to the charity shop as there is no way I'm going to put these up in my house and over all the years I must have had hundreds of them.

It's lovely that they want to buy you something but a card is fine. If they really want to get a present, a bar of Dairy Milk or something would be sooo much better (and cheaper!!).
