I've got some new slippers as mine are looking pretty terrible now, and a Pandora stacker ring to go with my existing stack. What is everyone else hoping for or what would you buy yourself for Christmas?

Seeing my loved ones laughing.

I'm not telling you folk 😁😁. My adult child, their partner and I live together, and my child and I make a big thing of xmas. One of our rules is that we share a wish list with each other, with no expectation that we get every thing on that list.

I've had my list for three weeks. But I will not share it until I get their lists.

So I'm not breaking that until I get their lists.

I have my standards 😂

I would like some more Chelsea Peers pjs but I haven’t seen any that I like in my size in TK Maxx this year and they’re too expensive full price 😬

Other than that I just really want my photo books printed from Snapfish as they’re really expensive!! I have two holiday Photobooks and last years yearly Photobook waiting to be printed plus this years yearly Photobook, our most recent holiday Photobook and a few other projects that I’m in the middle of that I want to print and physically have. Annoyingly, Snapfish don’t do gift cards so I don’t know how to actually ask for them as gifts as I would have to order them from my account 🤔

mamaduckbone · 02/11/2024 00:13

Some new perfume would be nice, maybe a scarf, some socks, books and a St Eval scented candle. I like to get nice cosy but not especially expensive things that I wouldn't buy for myself.

Dh and I are debating whether to buy each other a bean to cup coffee machine but if we do we'll probably wait until the sales in January.

Attelina · 02/11/2024 00:16

A pair of enamelled earrings by CeCe. I don't mind if it's the forget me knots or the ivy ones.

My husband will double check with my sister to make sure he chooses the right ones!

An ankle length down puffer jacket that is rated for -30 for walking the dog.

And yes. I do live somewhere where it reaches -30!

10day holiday over xmas/new year in the sun with the family!

I'm the sort of person who just buys what I want when I need it so come birthdays or Xmas I never really neber need anything. Not going to buy extra stuff for the sake of it either.

Princessfluffy · 02/11/2024 04:12

Pink adidas shoes
Cirque du Soleil tickets for the Albert Hall
A handmade hat
Handknitted socks

Coolbreezee · 02/11/2024 04:32

Only thing on my list is to go for a walk on Christmas morning :)
My dad has bought me a haircut for the past couple of years, hoping he does the same this year because I haven't been to the hairdressers since last Christmas and it definitely needs some TLC (can't afford it myself).

beachcitygirl · 02/11/2024 05:10

My horrible ex once bought me a fabulous present & I've craved the same ever since.
A yearly blow dry every Friday afternoon.

It lasted almost the full week and on wed eve Thursday I'd wear it up.
Never been so happy with a gift.

That is an incredible present!

Ooh, what a great gift idea ( the haircut) 😊 Hope you enjoy the walk too!

Writing my own Christmas list started when a penniless single mum. DS, age 4, realised that Father Christmas had brought him lots of presents but nothing for mummy, he got upset and tried to give me some of his presents.

So it began as me buying a lot of little things, a pack of Emery boards, a packet of chocolate raisins, a new lipstick, and wrapping them so DS saw that Father Christmas had been 'fair'.

It became part of the Christmas routine. 🤗

This year I was made redundant in July (at 61) which was worrying, but have started a lovely new job and have just received a tax rebate, so this year will be a little splurge of relief after having spent nothing in August, September or October. On my list is
a wool/cotton henley top from Boden
a rug for the sitting room
curtains for my bedroom

thankyouforthedayz · 02/11/2024 07:04

Ancestry DNA kit
Expensive soap
Stick blender mini chopper combo
Blu tooth speaker
Nice chocolates
Bvlgari The Vert perfume

greengreyblue · 01/11/2024 21:29

Not even thought about it.

Oh i've not heard of that - can you expand on what it is?

TorroFerney · 02/11/2024 07:15

Cynic17 · 01/11/2024 22:39

I've never had a Christmas list for myself (as an adult, anyway). I find it really odd when people think it's OK to tell others what they want.

Yes agree - well more that I will say lets just spend £20 on each other to my husband and say really small things even though we can afford a lot more so this kind of post is really good for me as it helps me get over my I'm not worth anything I should not get presents.

It depends if anyone asks you what you want though, and a lot of these lists won't get shared I don't think other than on here, and some people are saying they will buy the things themselves.

I find women are terrible generally at telling others what they want in all aspects of life, expecting people to guess and then being disappointed (lot of it due to how we are taught to be as women) so this is a good exercise.

Books from the Folio Society for my collection.

There's also another similar thread here that may have some ideas on too.

What is on your Christmas Wish List this year ? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/christmas/5168537-what-is-on-your-christmas-wish-list-this-year

TaeAgus · 02/11/2024 08:30

I'm hoping for stuff from Lush and maybe a sketch pad or journal and a pen / pencils to go with it.

I only really buy for close family and we don't spend a lot on each other tbh. But I'm doing a little stocking for my dsis and I'm quite excited about that as she loves Christmas.

I need things like bras and a winter coat, and things for the kitchen, but those aren't the kinds of things people can buy for me tbh as I'm too picky!

ByMerryKoala · 02/11/2024 08:33

I'd like a pair of Moshulu slippers, a large pot of Clinique moisture surge and/ or a new tablet, because I've scratched accidentally the crap out of mine

Princessfluffy · 02/11/2024 09:27

I think it's excellent to have a wish list as an adult. It makes it much easier for people to buy for you and you don't end up with stuff you don't want which is wasteful!

UhhhhhhhOK · 02/11/2024 09:30
