Thought I'd share what I've got so far for my (currently) 18 month old DS, who will be almost 21 months by Christmas, stocking this year in the hopes others will share what they're getting for some inspiration; I'd love to get a couple more small bits but feel stuck on ideas!

Easy Grip Crayons
Hand Held Space Themed Light Projector
Pop Pop Keyring (I'm not sure what other people call these, sorry!)
Wind Up Racing Christmas Characters
Magic Colouring Book
Christmas Book

Bath crayons and foam soap went down well with my DD last year at around the same age. She also got a yoto card, an orchard game, couple of play doh tubs and a new water bottle.

pjs
hodded bath towel
actually that might be more main present type.
cup?
bubble bath
wooden toy
soft toy
Christmas book/sticker book
Christmas socks
maybe a small lindt reindeer??? Obviously depending on your thoughts about sweets and chocolate
and of course, the Satsuma!

JG24 · 30/10/2024 21:35

Bath crayons
Bubble bath
Toothbrush
Bobble hat (she loves hats!)
Socks
Hairbrush
Satsumas
And chocolate coins - not sure I'll let her eat them all but I think she'll enjoy shaking them around in the mesh bag!

Also want to put a toy in but not sure what and don't want to get some thing just for the sake of it

@Upsadiddles Oh bath Crayons is a good one! I've looked at Yoto as a main gift, did you find it age appropriate? I love the idea but wonder if he'll get it just yet 🤔

@TheHighPriestess1 Satsumas! Totally forgot I'd get a satsuma as a kid. Adding to the list!

@JG24 I found stacking cups and wooden sensory blocks a huge success if you dont already have those. My DS plays with them most days. John Lewis have a lovely set of sensory blocks that we've got, very interactive and I'd say worth the money

We've got stacking cups but I feel like she's played with them since she was tiny so is bored of them (or maybe I am!)
Are the sensory blocks still suitable for 20 month old?

I would say yes, I'll link them so you can have a look. My little one loves the block with the squeaky push button and the kaleidoscope one too

DD2 was that age last year, and she and her older sister got a Yoto to share. DD2 was definitely interested in it from the start, but couldn't quite use it independently (no such problems a year later, though). For a first/only, I'd probably wait 6-12 months unless you want some of the other features (night light, various sleep sounds, etc.) now. We have the Spot collection card, which is good for short stories but a lot of them, so value for money. The Mog collection is her favourite, though.

Last year her stocking had: satsuma, some toddler snacks we don't usually buy, zoo animal shaped pasta, socks, hair slides/bobbles, colour-changing putty, a kaleidoscope, red and white striped bath soap, some sachets to make slime for sensory play, and a new train and some extra bits of track for our wooden railway. And a bit of chocolate to match big sister, the advantages of being the second born! The pasta and the train track bits were good for filling space.

Upsadiddles · 01/11/2024 03:22

@ladybird30 she was definitely interested in it straight away although went through a phase of wanting to change the card every 10 seconds. She’s better at sitting listening to it now at closer to 3.

Melissa and Dug wooden rainbow ring stacker is quite small and looks great in a stocking.

Small bean bags to throw (Tumble Tots sell them)
small Jelly Cat toy
My First Brio engine (if no Brio already the track would have to be a bigger present from somebody)
a board book might fit
