...with two small children (who don't really like roast dinner), what food would you prepare?

I've got puddings sorted, but pondering on what else to do. Can't really be in the kitchen for hours. Been suggested we go out but that's just one of the meals, there's a whole lot of feasting over the festive period! Noone here to tell us no so don't need to stick to the traditional. But that seems to have overwhelmed me with options 😂 Having a think or it'll be fish fingers and potato waffles!

WWYD?

I’d go for a Christmas Buffet vibe. Go to M&S, they have loads of gorge buffet food at this time of year. Well most places probably do actually! Mozzarella stars, chicken bites, mini pizzas, all the nice crisps and dips etc. Pigs in blankets are a must! In December I usually make a delish Mac n cheese with pigs in blankets in. Do a cheese board, if they like different cheeses.

I’d still do the Christmas-sy thing - small Turkey joint for me and a tiny ham/ some ham, spuds etc then whatever they want but with a tiny piece of my dinner on their plate!!

There was also the Christmas when we did the main dinner on Christmas eve and then had lovely leftovers and smoked salmon sandwiches to eat as we pleased while the kids opened their presents/ watched Xmas TV/ built Lego spaceships. That was a very happy one.

I’d do a good pasta sauce with pigs in blankets, buratta, garlic bread, mafalde pasta

ooops. Just seen they don’t like pasta. Just cook them something you know they’re eat and love so you’re not stressing about it and getting cross over wasting time and food.

I use this to spread as the tomato sauce as not too watery
