Homemade Hamper for Grandparents

My DH and I are looking at doing a nice hamper for his grandparents this Christmas. I'm struggling to think what to add to it, so any help would be appreciated.

I know they don't drink and they like sure basic things - they don't cook much, tend to eat ready meals.

So far, all I can think to add is a box of their favourite chocolates and some really nice jams.

I've got the hamper - it's a nice large sized one from the works, so can definitely hold a good amount.

A cosy throw/picnic blanket? Chutney, nice crisps, biscuits for cheese. Tea in a pretty canister.

I love making up hampers! Try & tailor it - my Nan likes the M&S nut mixes, so I always pop one of those in. What about some Christmas candles? Shortbread? While they don’t drink; what about a nice sparkling drink for Xmas day. Mini Christmas puddings. Nice mince pies! Just have a browse round some supermarket aisles and I’m sure you’ll get some ideas 😊

Echo the biscuits for cheese see if you can get some local cheeses. Perhaps some shortbread biscuits. Have a look at Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, M&S and Waitrose for ideas

Crisps would be in my hamper you can get special seasonal ones like Lidls lobster cocktail.
I would also love Roka cheese sticks and the same brand wafer

Is there a farm shop near you? Ours does lovely locally made biscuits (sweet and savoury)/ cakes/ chutneys / crisps / apple juice. Nice tea or coffee. Maybe some tinned pate or fish? Could be controversial but might remind them of their youth! Lashings of ginger beer.

Lidl stollen bites were a surprise hit along with fudge.

Agree with all of the above. Depends what they like to eat. A packet of better than usual dried pasta and jar of pasta sauce if they'd eat that. Things that are more expensive than they'd usually buy so a small tin of red salmon; decent filter coffee, good hot chocolate. Little cakes. Garden centres and TK Maxx/Homesense have some lovely things coming up to Christmas.
