Sorry I don't. But wow you have made my day. I'm buying this for my BFF for Christmas. She will be absolutely delighted. Thank you and good luck with finding something.

anatara · 14/10/2024 13:37

You're welcome! It was a great present, I'd just like to find some more now 😂

Looks like a great book, may ask for that for Christmas!

How about this one?

I've just bought both the books recommended here 😆

The Midsomer Murder one for my Mum as she will love it and then pass on to my Dad!

And the Armchair General one for my 16yo son...he's a reluctant reader but I always buy him a book for Christmas anyway and always try to find something he might be willing to pick up! He loves history, especially the world wars, so keeping my fingers crossed this may be a winner!

I'm considering buying board game and puzzle mad ds and dil Murdle, both the book and game. Anyone played it, any good?

cathcath2 · 14/10/2024 18:00

Oh wow! That's like the choose your own adventure books from our childhood.

SlipperyLizard · 14/10/2024 20:04

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride my DD loves Murdle, it is essentially logic puzzles that get more difficult as you progress, all based around who murdered the victim, with what etc.

We love Murdle here.

There is also a Flight Radar puzzle book that looks good. Was wondering about buying dc1 and dh for Christmas. Think it's called "You are the Captain" or words to that effect. Probably not many murders though.

44PumpLane · 14/10/2024 22:52

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride @SlipperyLizard I've started doing Murdle recently and I must say I'm one of the few who just are not that bothered by it! It's literally the same puzzle repeated over and over......I've taken to doing one or two of them every few nights just to get through the book but I'm super disappointed as I thought it would be a variety of different types of puzzle, but the whole book is just one type of puzzle!

We're enjoying this one in our house. I got it from the Works

@44PumpLane i would feel the same, logic puzzles aren’t really my thing, but DD loves them!

I don't know about books, but he might like something like the Cosy Killer Murder Subscription Box? There are tons of other options depending on exactly what he likes (just do a quick Google). You can also get what are basically escape rooms in a box you can play at home which are similar.

In Lockdown I did an online one which was really involved - documents/ notes to read, little video scenes of stuff acted out. I had to take notes and I don't think I ever finished it, but that's no reflection on the game just me. It was with this company, Joy Swift, they have a couple of options
