Outdoor Christmas decorations - not lights or wreaths

Looking for ideas for adding a little bit of Christmas cheer to the front of the house, apart from lights or front door wreath. We don't have any trees or bushes to decorate, which is a shame. I don't like door bows or illuminated figures.

We had a winter break in the Canaries one year and I loved the Poinsettias planted outdoors everywhere but sadly not going to work for our temperatures. I was thinking I might see if I can find some halfway decent artificial ones to stick in the planters we already have but given that the weather might ruin them, possibly a bit pricey for single use.

I don't have the house for it but I really like the American porch style decorations, where there are signs, lanterns, rocking chair, maybe a snowman. Like the pics.

Otherwise, garland along the window?

When you say no lights, do you mean just fairy lights or anything light up? As there are light up presents, reindeer etc that a lot of people around me seem to like.

We don't have a house that would suit that either but it would be fab in the right place. I can't explain why but I just don't like the light uo presents/Santas etc A garland along the window sill is a great idea, with baubles attached - thank you

A have a couple of evergreen trees in planters I put on either side of the door and decorate, would something like that work?

I also hang baubles in the downstairs windows.

In our old house we had an artificial Christmas tree in the open porch. We also have a couple of sign like let it snow on the front door ( attached to the knocker with festive ribbon)

Depending on how big your house is, potted miniature christmas trees underplanted with festive colour (can be decorated with lights and baubles), window boxes, wooden boxes filled with large pine cones, carved wooden animals (reindeer, hares etc) as part of a bigger festive scene

Thank you all.
I think plants of some sort are the way to go. Will try baubles hanging in the windows too, see how they look from outside.

If you have trees then giant baubles hanging from the tree look good.

I've done the parcel string suspending pine cones at various heights (length of string), you can do this with baubles or small wrapped boxes too, and you can put it inside or outside the window, depending on your area. If the pine cones aren't 'Christmassy' enough, spray them white and give them a touch of glitter.

I like to do paper snowflakes inside the window for Christmas.

I bought some of these robins from amazon to go on my upstairs front windows, plus some snowflakes. I'm hoping some kids walking past will like them

You could decorate one of your windows with a Christmas themed scene, things like silhouettes of a village or a forest or a nativity scene work well. Or a silhouette of the three kings on camels, or three sailing ships.
Another idea is to create a stained glass effect with paper and tissue paper, simple shapes work best for this.

Google for ideas. Lots of villages put on window advent calendar displays, so plenty of ideas there.

We have a collection of outdoor ornaments we put out each year. I also keep old miniature Christmas trees even if they are broken and put them out with little ornaments on them. We have a tiny patch of dirt I can put them in. Finally I have a large plastic plant pot I fill with cut off of old artificial trees and garlands I make a display out of at the side of our front door. Each year it varies depending on what I have available.

sometimes I think I want a big flashy lit up house, but I love my little cute ornaments, we have a primary school next to our house and I love hearing the kids squealing and talking about our ornaments.

here are some examples of the types of ornaments.

I just bought a family of snowmen, my DH is going to go mad when he sees them but our street go all out and we are new to the area so I feel it’s needed! Tacky as hell I know but the street is full of young kids and I can’t wait to be part of it!
