Ideas for my daughter's second Christmas please

Last year I ended up buying 'stuff' that ended up being put in tote boxes and put out of the way because her play area was just too full and even I would he overwhelmed by all the 'stuff'.

Ideas for second Christmas please? She is a summer baby so will be around 30 months at Christmas I would rather older stuff than too basic so it has a bit of longevity to it.

Id prefer a budget of around £100/£150 if possible she ends up with stuff ad hoc throughout the year. Were more experience and going out than stopping in a lot as a family.

Thanks for any ideas and advice.

Tonie box or Yoto.

AFlashOfLight · 15/08/2024 13:19

Is it her second Christmas or her 3rd? If she'll be 30 months it must be her third.

2024christmas · 15/08/2024 16:49

Well bugger me it's her third 😲 where has time gone.

We didn't really do anything for her first Christmas when she was six months I was struggling quite a lot mentally so we marked it very quietly and didn't make a big fuss.

My DC loved a toy tea set at that age. Was a present for my first, played with a lot by the others. It was from ELC but Smyths seem to have something simiar They didn't have a play kitchen as we didn't have the space but were quite happy making everyone 'cups of tea' and I we had some play food

They played a lot with the Brio train set which could be added to over time.

A toy garage was also well played witth. They loved pushing cars down the ramp and it had a lift, turned a handle to lift cars up to the different levels

popoids were well loved by our DC and visitors. They seem really expensive now, I'd consider looking for second hand and giving them a good wash!

A little play house a bit like this

I should add my DC are all adults now but these stick in my mind as the things played with most.

Oh and jigsaws were always a hit. We used to get them from ELC but Orchard Toys seem to be good for these along with games like Incy Wincy Spider and Shopping List.

Thank you for your ideas.
She does love her tea set maybe I could get her a few other tea setty bits like a sugar pot etc were the same our house doesn't really lend for a full blown kitchen set up.

A membership to a local children's attraction.

Then a few small gifts.

Premium bonds if she has loads of relatives who give her stuff.

Last year when my daughter was around that age we got her a few bits and bobs but the one thing she still plays with now time and time again is the baby Annabelle crawling/walking doll I think it was called Emily or something on the box

nomeslice · 24/08/2024 21:55

Dress up clothes/costumes

Id just do a small stocking, with something like sweets, small toy and bath bombs.

And then nit bother with anything else tbh, she'll get loads from others.

DD just turned 4 last Christmas and that was the first time we actually got her a proper present (Sylvanian Families).

GreatDarkWing · 25/08/2024 15:00

Magnetic tiles or shapes like Magformers, Magnatiles, etc. These have great longevity in my experience: DD7 still plays with hers, as do her friends when they visit. If she likes the starter pack, relatives can add to her collection over time.

llamajohn · 25/08/2024 16:41

Magnatiles are great 👍
