I am normally half way done now, but I haven't even started this year!

So I've just bought some Lego classic sets on Amazon, but I can't think of any other ideas.

What are you/did you buy your boys at this age?

They are into building, bug hunting and crafts. We have hot wheels garage, they don't really play with it, but will play just the small cars and with larger vehicles.

Thank you 😊

Edit - they also like toy pets like the hamsters in the balls!

Walkie-talkies, a remote control car each or something so that they can race/wrestle them.

I always find a browse on the Science and Natural history museum shop websites to be a good start.

This won't help for Christmas but if you want something interesting for over the summer you can get butterfly garden kits so you can watch tiny caterpillars grow, pupate, and hatch into butterflies.

A big hit last year for my two (almost 6 and 3) was "Little live pets - my puppy's home." You build the kennel and then the puppy magically appears! Wondered it they would be a one hit wonder but they're still played with regularly.

I’ve got a 5 year old boy and here’s where I’m at with the crafty gift ideas :

• Smiggle have some cool stationary (wait for the sales) and so does Kenji so I’m doing a pencil case with washi tapes, smelly pens, flip out ruler, glow pens, fun scissors, stickers etc.

• The HOW TO DRAW ninjago lego book was a big hit and I’ve bought it again for him since last Xmas

• Magnetic Tiles are still going strong 2 years later

• the Eugy 3D model figure sets (hobby craft do them too!)

• the bead sets you iron into shapes (can get super Mario and other character sets too)

• maybe a light box for drawing

A handheld microscope is a good idea - I got one for DD aged 5 and it gets a lot of use. I didn't bother with a kid's one, just a little one with an LED light.

Also this could be good for the 7 year old.
