Gifts for someone going to university shortly

I’m a bit wary or buying big or expensive stuff they won’t be able to take with them but I also don’t want to buy e.g. an iron!

I was thinking homely stuff like a throw, dressing gown? Any slightly more exciting ideas 😆 ? I guess this will be a bit of a recurring issue. What do you buy for prospective/uni students?
