Present ideas DD nearly 3

DD will be nearly 3 at Xmas.
I like to have quite a large list for people and us to choose from for Christmas and birthday combined but struggling a bit for variety this year. I know she is getting a tablet from 1 set of grandparents.
We are getting magnetic tiles plus already have some kinetic sand, a book and a puzzle. Looking for another couple of presents plus her birthday. Then ideas for others when they ask.
I have on my list: lots of books, there will be clothes she needs but will decide what nearer the time, a possible expansion to her playmobil 123 and/or play food, a set of kids knives as she loves to help in the kitchen, some puzzles and board games, magnetic letters and a holder for her Yoto cards.
Other than possibly the playmobil (want to wait and see how much she is playing with it as it's a bit hit and miss) and play food (she does have some) I don't seem to have much in the way of toys.
So I would love to know what your 3 year olds have loved?
Space is very limited so nothing big like kitchens please, no outdoor space at all so no garden toys.
She has a Yoto, a scooter (although not a very good one), scuttle bug, a play farm, car rug, train set, Duplo and some dressing up stuff.

Thanks she loves play doh- I make it but maybe some more accessories might be good.
We have quite lot of art and crafts stuff plus she will get a few bits in her stocking. She has a doll and a buggy which she likes- maybe a cot or something for it if it's small. She isn't that interested in the dressing up stuff she has except bags.

Thanks, I didn't ask for opinions on that. Very careful considered decision which is the right one for us for various reasons. However she won't be using it very much at all to start with and always with an adult.

There are some really fun (and cheap!) Accessories for play doh, like eyes/hats/feet etc to make fun characters. The classic play doh hairdresser also has some longevity. Also recommend rollers/cutters etc for lots of fun.

I'd also ask at nursery what she plays with to give you some extra ideas.

She has rollers and cutters but would love hats etc so will look for them thanks.
She doesn't go to nursery but I will keep an eye at what she plays with at toddler groups

A little cookery set with rolling pin and cutters.
I remember mine, and loved it.

Given many of us have much older children of course our toddler know how to use tables. It's pretty common, thats why child tablets exist and thousands of Apps are designed specifically for toddlers. Lets face it no adult is playing 'Peppa Pig'.

Given most apps usable by toddlers are educational too and once they start nursery/pre-school at age 3 they will be able to use things like Dojo so its pretty outdated to think its a negative and by refusing technological advances it only serve to hold your child behind their peers.

My go to gift for a three year old is a metre of fabric (pattern to suit) and a metre of ribbon.

It’s amazing how their imagination just expands.

gardenmusic · 01/07/2024 15:03

A box crammed with blown up balloons and wrapped up.

Bubbles.

Some ideas

  • Doctors Play Set
  • Hairdresser Set
  • Baby Doll
  • Dressing up outfits (Minnie Mouse, Moana etc)
It all depends on your child but a lot of little ones that age are into these sorts of things
Lincoln24 · 10/07/2024 15:41

My daughter loved Sandsational at that age.

I think that's the same as kinetic sand- she loves that and will definitely get a refill
