Can anyone give me some ideas what to get my boys this Xmas? They're at that stage where toys are out of the question, even Lego... they might want an Xbox game but apart from that, all I get is "I don't know" 😂ideas for gifts and stocking fillers please 🙏🏼 x

For bigger presents, Decathlon do a great archery set.

If they like football, a ladder, cones, spots, new ball/pump etc - I got all these in lock down so they could make "training"/obstacle courses.

A badminton net (Decathlon also do a good pop up one)

Inline skates

Frisbee

Slushie maker

Waffle maker

Bubble tea set

Are they into hair products and smellies yet?

Do they have any hobbies?

StormingNorman · 29/06/2024 22:29

No they don't spend alot of time inside, they're usually out playing football and rugby or biking they're very outdoorsy ☺️xx

Just saw this. Jellycats do some cute football and rugby ball teddies.

Didn’t realise I was, it popped up in my active box!
I get spreading the cost but can’t you put the money by, how can kids know what they want this early in the year?

Because most children don't change their personalities along with their underwear. If you know your kids you tend to know what they like and don't, any major personality shifts that majorly change their tastes and interests should be cause for concern.

Things also cost far more closer to Christmas and sell out.

BasiliskStare · 30/06/2024 17:51

@SparklesandRainbows

If they have various things which need batteries , put a pack or two of relevant batteries in the stocking. Twofold benefit - they have batteries and it stops the "Mum mum - do we have some AA / AAA batteries anywhere "

If they are the useful, handy type, one of these https://www.gerbergear.com.au/mullet-stonewash.html. I want one for my handbag.

D20 · 01/07/2024 12:23

For summer hols (but would work well in a stocking I guess) I’ve just ordered some spray chalks, crystal growing and fun snaps from pound fun. Had anyone mentioned slack lines or spike ball sets yet?

Pass the Pigs

Old fashioned mini games like jacks and pick up sticks.

Whoopee cushions

Games like Mastermind (the one with the pegs and you have to work out the pattern); Yahtzee; Othello

CatsForLife · 29/07/2024 20:18

If they are outdoorsy, one of those multi-tool thingys are good. My son is older but still like a fidget. There is also a kids’ Swiss Army Knife which might go down well. Other ideas - American sweets, joke book, can of unusual fizzy drink (US or Japanese), gloves, ear pods, metallic gel pens, one of those woolly hats with torch on the front, cinema tickets.

Fontainebleau007 · 29/07/2024 20:35

Thanks everyone, just going through the thread I seemed to miss some replies!
@CatsForLife ooh a cinema gift card would be brilliant didn't think of that, there's a few films next year they want to see!

I always find torches go down well in stockings

DelurkingAJ · 29/07/2024 21:12

Everyone at our house gets a book. Often second hand. I really recommend ‘What If?’ by Randall Monroe if they’ve not already discovered them.
Cricket balls…you can buy ones that have random bounce to practice fielding drills.
Bath salts (I found some dinosaur ones) were a hit last year.
Four colour pens and other stationery items (glue sticks here because we seem to have a glue stick eating monster in our house).

Fontainebleau007 · 29/07/2024 21:26

@DelurkingAJ I know that feeling with glue sticks omg! Lol

Books
Art & craft stuff
Cinema passes
Slipper socks
Edibles
Backpack

Scout2016 · 29/07/2024 22:53

Love the Wonka toothpaste idea thanks! @Artesia do you know how often they do 2 for 1 please?

A jellybean roulette thing was a hit daft gift here. Some disgusting flavours in with nice ones and a spinner to tell you which to eat.
