I have been looking at booking Lapland UK for my children oldest will be 9 and youngest will be 7. It is veryyyyy expensive but is it worth it?
this could be the last year my children find it really magical but I'm just unsure about spending almost £600 on the tickets for a family of four

Any reviews would be amazing please

I've not been but I have friends that have. They said it was good and worth it. Some have been several times.
One friend took her 12 year old boy, he was too old for it but his 9 yr old sister enjoyed it.

I heard on the parenting hell podcast that they thought it was better than actual lapland

I've been the last two years with my 6 then 7 year old. Absolutely magical ✨🪄. I decided against it this year as I'm hoping to take her to actual Lapland. I think if you are willing to believe, any age would have a wonderful time.

It's sold out so if you didn't buy tickets you're too late.

Where is it? My DS is only 1.5 and I'm due my 2nd this summer so won't go for a few years. But it would def involve an overnight at a hotel and a flight from Ireland.

Is that £60 - £150 per person depending on when you go? As in Adult or child? I have family who aren't too far with similar aged kids might be really nice to do together in a few years. I am guessing we'd need to be on the mailing list in order to even try get tickets? I wonder is there a max you can book, I'd need 8

AhBiscuits · 10/04/2024 12:24

It's in Ascot, near the racecourse.
The price is per person and is the same for children or adults. Late and early slots are cheaper, as are midweek slots. Bear in mind that it takes 4.5 hours. If you have a 6pm slot you won't be seeing santa until 10pm.
You should join the mailing list to find out when tickets will be released. You need to be in the waiting room when the tickets go live to stand any chance of getting the ones you want. They sell out in around 2-3 hours.
The maximum number of people per booking is 8. All 8 of you would need to see santa at the same time, they won't let you split it into families if you're on the same booking.

We went two years ago on Christmas Eve’s eve. Paid £120 each for a ticket. It was lovely.

a bit annoyed about how much they tried to sell you food, sweets and Christmas stuff when in there. And that’s before you go through the gift shop on the way out.

Tried to get tickets this year - there was supposed to be £70 tickets for a Tuesday in November, but the cheapest that were left by the time I got through were £180.

It’s just not worth £180.

I think they will be sold out by now but I would say you probably want to go sooner than later for your oldest. We went last year and it was lovely for my 4 year old who probably was a touch too young. But my oldest nephew who is 10 noticed the signs saying Lapland UK on the way and said oh so it's not real then! I think starting to be quizzative about it. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything whilst walking through but we went last week of November for cheaper tickets so maybe that impacted their approach, ice skating is included which is nice too and wasnt too busy.

I went with my 7 year old in Nov 24. (Born Aug 2017) She was amazed! She only questioned the 'snow' when a kid in front of her asked why it wasnt melting. I said it was magic perma-snow. And she believed me.
So my first time not gonna lie i was slightly bored by the theatrical element of it. I was very thankful when we got the 90 mins in the elf village to ice skate, letters to Santa and eat lunch and shop.
Given my anxiety around crowded places I was beyond pleased that the place was well managed with numbers though.
Don't eat there! It's well expensive and not any good!
Overall it's a 4 hour show with a magical visit to Santa. I would not pay more than £150 pp.
I do understand the cost though cos the Elves are 10/10 never breaking character. And Santa knows your kids name and likes (after you fill in a form)
Great experience! You must do it!

It’s a magical experience for kids… if you can afford it, do it!

Where are you based @Blanket12? Lapland are opening in North this year.
