Vr headsets

Sorry not Christmas related but I thought it might be the best place to ask.. my ds has asked for a vr headset for his birthday but I am not sure he’s old enough for it yet? He will be 9 on his birthday and says his friends in school have one. Anyone have younger kids with a vr? How did they get on with it?

Me and my husband both have vr headsets. You can get them fairly cheap when they have the sales, and I had considered it for my kids. The reason I haven't, besides the dangers of them interacting with strangers - and we've accidentally been thrown into games with randoms, is that I've had vr sickness a few times from playing games. Anything that requires movement from the controller can really make you feel very sick and it takes time to build up a tolerance to it.

We don't generally play games that require this but things like meta horizon it doesn't take very long to move around before I feel like I'm going to throw up.

I personally wouldn't buy them for a child but we have allowed them to use them occasionally to try a few bits.
