How do people do stockings when your children go to bed later than you?
This year, I was exhausted waiting for them to go to bed.

They get to put their stockings out for Santa and then they are banished to the kitchen.

My dd is a student and it's been a long time since she stopped believing in Father Christmas but she would still be very disappointed not to get a stocking. Even though she knows that I fill it, I can't let go of the tradition of her going to bed to an empty stocking and coming down to a filled one.

Luckily, the corollary of her now going to bed later than me is that she also wakes up much later so I can fill it in the morning.
