I absolutely know I am unreasonable hence not in AIBU! but I'm just so low this year as Christmas was always fun, busy and loud with four kids but this year its just flat. Too quiet!

Probably delayed due to Covid Christmasses but this year they all seem off doing their own thing. Oldest not home at all until the 28th. 20, 18, 16 and 14.

DH is working or watching football.

I'm bored, sad and lonely. What can I do to make it special and fun this year? Finish work tomorrow and then a week off! Welcome all ideas please. Thanks you!

Films and snacks.
Bribe them to go to places. Food or money. Any good cinema?

Meet up with friends and do some things by yourself. Get into a Netflix show, read books and relax lots

My lads are about the same age as your youngest and enjoy a trip to the cinema on Christmas Eve. This year we're going for Godzilla! Might be a nice afternoon out especially if you go for something that appeals to them.

Great minds @Draconis 😁

Thanks for replying and suggestions. Cinema is a good idea. I'll suggest it to the 16 and 14 yo. Might need to throw in pizza! I do miss the panto, santa and nativity days.

We're going ice skating on Christmas eve and then out for a nice meal with ds15. We did it last year and he requested it again.

They are not too old for the panto. I went today with DSs 23 and 22.

Cinema always a good bet and anything where food might be involved.

Runoutofinkagain · 19/12/2023 23:14

Was about to say the same as @BigBoysDontCry my lot still love the panto!

BigBoysDontCry · 19/12/2023 23:32

The panto is always multi layered in terms of humour, they might enjoy it even more as "adults".

I am in my 30s and love a panto! Especially now we are old enough to understand all the smut and innuendo 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Fatcish · 20/12/2023 22:38

Oh no they won't 🤣. Thank you though. I'll ask them.
