Any ideas for a joint gift for kids?

My youngest (5) asked me what I’m getting him for Christmas. We have 4 kids, 5-10. We could take something from the Santa pile each but the only thing easily comparable is clothes. A bit boring!

in past years we got them a trampoline, trip to legoland and trip to Lapland. And made those our Christmas present to them. I don’t want to spend too much this time, anyone any ideas for a joint experience or gift (not tech or gaming) we could get them? I’m thinking maybe a Yes day (could be hell for us) or a special meal together somewhere nice. Or an overnight in a cheap hotel with pool. Something like that.

I think Centre Parcs are cheap in January

Giant Lego set
If they're into indoors, maybe a tent or camping gear
Outdoor foldable tennis set
A few board games

Annual membership of something, that you can all do together? Even if it's the local leisure centre?

Book or magazine annual subscription?

Klask is a great game (a bit like table hockey) and we’ve hosted family tournaments with prizes so they get a decent sized box to unwrap and an experience. The two player version is better than four.

Ping pong table, if you have space?

Ours also completely loved proper afternoon tea with unlimited cakes and hot chocolate.

Teepee overnighter with GoApe or suchlike...

Hot chocolate maker, mugs, selection of hot chocolate flavours, marshmallows, novelty shaped spoons, etc.

Create a little hot chocolate station for them.

Do you often do things as a family?

Home cinema projector?

Camping equipment of you feel like going camping, if you only do hotels scrap that.

Theatre trip? Maybe linked to a night in a hotel.

Agree an experience, membership or tickets to a thing - local zoo, trampoline park, ninja warrior, Go Ape course, etc.

Or if you think they'd get the intention behind it, could you make it a charitable thing - family sponsorship of a toilet in a developing country, or a cat kennel at Battersea, sponsor a guide dog, etc?

Some genius ideas there! Thanks everyone so much. Was leaning towards a 'Yes day' but there are some things people mentioned that might work even better!

Would a yes day be difficult if they each want to do something different?

Id go with a night in a hotel with/near a water park… Alton towers do stay and splash deals in the winter.

What about a day out somewhere-theme park or somewhere, day out in London, cinema and pizza etc...

Scaletrix with extra cars and controllers so each child has one. They usually come with two cars and two controllers so you'd need to buy two extra. We got this for our DC as a shared gift as you need several players to make it fun, it's not a one player game.

Just to close off the thread, I got them a full sized table tennis table! I think they will love it. We have sheds set up for them to play indoor football and they can now play table tennis with friends. We don’t have any games consoles so their physical play spaces do get heavily used. Two eldest will be well able but two younger will grow into it and we’ll have it now for years! Thanks for the ideas!
